John Jameson, or the Wolfman

John Jameson is a fictional character in the Marvel universe, fortunately or unfortunately, with the ability to turn into a wolf. He is one of NASA's youngest astronauts, and is also considered an ally of Spider-Man. Although more than once came into battle with him, being in the form of a beast. But his story begins a little earlier, because he was not always so shaggy.

Family ties

Many probably remember the ever-displeased Jay John Jameson, editor of the popular New York newspaper Daily Bugle, in which Peter Parker works. He began with a regular reporter. After working in the press for several years, Jay finally headed his own publishing house. For his development, he put a lot of effort, in principle, like his reporters, from whom he demanded full dedication and forced to find information in any way. But it was only a work mask.

In fact, many people know him as a kind and sympathetic person, ready at any moment to provide support. Therefore, frequent outbursts of anger forgive him. His main goal has always been Spider-Man. Jay did not consider him a hero, but constantly demanded materials from his employees with his participation, because this brought a huge profit to the publishing house. Moreover, the editor was ready to spend huge amounts of money. But at one point he will have to reconsider his attitude to the superhero. And his son, John Jameson, a character in the Marvel universe, known as the Wolfman, caused this.

Character story

Even before the transformation, Jameson explored outer space, working as an astronaut at NASA. He somehow didnโ€™t have a chance to do this right away, and already on his first mission the guy almost died, being in a faulty capsule, which subsequently left orbit. It was lucky that Spider-Man turned out to be nearby, who managed to establish the module, thanks to which the capsule landed at sea.

But for father John Jameson, this was not a feat. He decided that it was a well-planned trick that only emphasized the helplessness of his son. Therefore, since then, his attitude towards the hero has shifted even more negatively.

Infection

During his next space flight, John Jameson (the Wolfman) is again in a dangerous situation. When exposed to an unknown virus, it gains inhuman strength. Scientists from NASA decided to study the virus, and so that the guy did not have time to lose his strength, they developed a special organic suit for him. But not only they were interested in his new abilities. Father was also eager to use them.

Once during a bank robbery suspected of by Spider-Man, Jay persuades his son to confront the hero. He wanted to shoot a video to make it famous. The younger Jameson agrees to this, but the fight loses. And when it turns out that Spider-Man is not at all to blame, the father tries to stop his son. But easier said than done. He did not even suspect what John Jameson was experiencing then. Spider-Man greatly insulted him, winning, and he needed a rematch. But the next time, luck turned away from him. With a strong discharge of electricity, Spider-Man took power from him.

Turning

Some time after the incident, Jameson is sent to the moon to carry out a secret mission. Studying the ground there, he finds a strange red stone. He had never met such unusual breeds, so he decided to take the find home. But soon the astronaut realizes that he is simply unable to do without a stone. Therefore, he makes an amulet out of it, and on it engraving in the form of a wolf. Just putting it on, in the first full moon turns into a wolf. But he hardly liked it.

He spends most of his time finding a way to control the transformation, John Jameson. Marvel is a fictional universe, rich in transformations, here the heroes are faced with unusual situations. And for some time, John even begins to think that he has achieved success when a costume appears that, in his opinion, does not allow moonlight to pass through. But this is not so, and the transformations continue.

Soon his father learns about this, because at first he did not believe that the Wolfman is his son. But, having seen a pendant on his neck, he is convinced of this completely. Then, trying to help his son, he removes the amulet from him, thinking that this will stop the cycle, but this also does not give the desired effect. And even when Spider-Man threw a stone into the river, he only angered the beast, which without it did not feel warm feelings for him.

And together with Spider-Man, he leads a rebel squad to restore peace to this planet.
