Heparin ointment, instructions for use

Drug action

Direct-acting anticoagulant, affects fibrin directly in the lumen of the damaged portion of the vessel. It activates exactly those substances that thin the blood. The anticoagulant function is performed by inhibiting the production of fibrin, a protein that is the basis of a blood clot.

The combined pharmacological agent contains, in addition to heparin, anesthetic benzocaine and benzyl nicotinate, which prevents blood cells from sticking together. Each of the components enhances the action of the other two. So, heparin prevents the formation of a blood clot, destroys existing blood clots in the damaged area of the vessel and eliminates the inflammatory process.

Benzocaine relieves pain arising from blockage of the lumen of the vessel, and benzyl nicotinate promotes better absorption of heparin due to the expansion of the vessel walls.
