Marty is a character in the Madagascar cartoon series. Zebra living in the Central zoo of New York, and the best friend of the central hero of the lion series Alex. It is his escape from the zoo on his tenth birthday that becomes the catalyst for all the events of the series. Marty from Madagascar became a real favorite of the audience thanks to his cheerful character and cheerful disposition.
The first "Madagascar"
In the first Madagascar, Marty turns ten years old, and he suddenly realizes that half of his life has passed, and he never saw the real wildlife. A zebra escapes and is followed by his best friends: the lion Alex, the giraffe Melman and the hippo Gloria. They overtake Marty, but they are euthanized with a tranquilizer and sent to Kenya. Thanks to penguin tricks, their journey ends on the island of Madagascar.
Marty begins to enjoy life on the island, opens a bar and has fun in every way. However, in Alex his natural predator instincts awaken. This leads to the fact that he begins to hunt for herbivores in Madagascar, and Marty is among them. As a result, friends manage to resolve the conflict peacefully, and the animals continue to live happily on the island.
Madagascar 2
In the second “Madagascar,” Marty plays a much smaller role, with Alex being brought to the forefront even more. The characters, trying to get home, find themselves in the African savannah and find their own kind. Marty joins the herd of zebras, exchanging places with one of its members. Gradually, the character becomes the leader of the herd and, as a result, becomes truly happy at this post.
Their conflict with Alex develops when the lion is unable to distinguish his best friend from the rest of the zebras. However, in the end, he manages to recognize Marty in the crowd, and friends reconcile.
"Madagascar 3"
The main characters in the third cartoon of the series go to Monte Carlo in order to find the penguins who were supposed to bring the characters home. The police notice the animals, and they have to hide from the authorities. Then they are forced to join the traveling circus. It turns out that the circus can get a contract for an American tour with a stop in New York, where Marty's native zoo and friends are located.
Characters have to do the restructuring of the circus, the search for new numbers and the transformation of old ones. In the third “Madagascar,” Marty, together with the fur seal Stefano, who is similar in temperament to him, creates his circus number. Both of them become living cannonballs. After returning to the Central Zoo, Marty and his friends realize that the circus has become their home and they must return there. Their adventures end with a circus troupe and new friends, where they finally found their place.
Other appearances
Marty, like the rest of the protagonists in the series, appeared in several episodes of Madagascar Penguins. Also, the zebra and his friends became the heroes of two animated mini-series that appeared between the first and second and second and third cartoons, respectively, and went immediately to DVD and other media.
