Frequent ringing or tinnitus is not a disease, but only a symptom of some kind of ailment, so to speak, “the first bell”. If there is a ringing in the ears, the causes should be determined immediately.
Ear noise is subjective and objective in nature. Subjective noise is scientifically called tinnitus (which is translated from Latin as “ringing”). A person suffering from tinnitus often hears whistling, hissing, ringing, rustling, buzzing, throbbing and other noises that occur on their own, without an external focus of real sounds.
An objective ear or head noise can be heard not only by the patient, but also by the doctor. There are special devices that can record such tinnitus. The reasons for it are as follows:
• vascular, which arise from a not very typical arrangement of blood vessels, stenosis of arteries, arteriovenous shunts, venous murmurs, heart defects, tumors of the middle ear;
• neuromuscular, appearing from gaping of the auditory tube, frequent contraction of the muscles of the middle ear, as well as otoacoustic emission;
• and, finally, muscular-articular, the cause of which is the presence of a crunch in the temporomandibular joint.
Most often, people who have crossed a 40-year milestone suffer from ear noise. Tinnitus can also appear in a person who hears well. But in most cases, this pathology affects people with a different form and degree of hearing loss.
90% of the entire population at least once in their life, but experienced a short ear ringing. But about 10% of the remaining mass of people hear tinnitus for several minutes, it can be repeated several times a day. Sometimes this turns into a real problem - noise interferes with living peace, causes constant discomfort, stress, depression, disability. In rare cases, tinnitus is also an attempt at suicide. The causes of ear noise are as follows:
• constant present loud noise at work or at home;
• various auditory diseases of any part of the auditory analyzer, that is, otosclerosis, sulfur plug, otitis externa, HCT tumors, fistula, labyrinthitis, acutrauma, exostosis, otitis media, Meniere's disease and many others;
• disorders of the cervical spine;
• taking ototoxic drugs;
• brain tumors;
• diseases of the temporomandibular joint;
• autoimmune processes;
• cardiovascular diseases;
• viral infections that cause the same pain in the ears and other diseases.
Also, tinnitus provokes alcohol, caffeine, smoking, depression, stress and other harmful factors.
Some people suffer from chronic tinnitus. Once having arisen, such a noise continues to torment a person for six months, or even more. In such cases, it is necessary to conduct a very thorough examination of the patient in order to identify the cause of the disease.
Nowadays, almost any disease can be cured, even as difficult as tinnitus. Treatment begins with a call to the doctor, who must conduct an examination and diagnose the patient, and then prescribe a course of treatment. If the noise in the ears bothers a person only occasionally, then you can try to listen to relaxation music; take sedatives; for some time not to visit places where there is loud noise - night clubs, discos, subways, manufacturing enterprises; stop taking ototoxic drugs; start eating foods low in sodium and salt, as salt causes circulatory disorders; if possible, the use of tobacco, coffee, drinks containing alcohol should be excluded.
Do not ignore such a manifestation of the body as tinnitus. The reasons for which it is caused can be quite serious, requiring compulsory medical intervention.
