The Philharmonic (Kazan) has existed since 1937. Initially, she conducted musical propaganda activities. During the war, artists performed at the front lines and in hospitals. In 1946, the Philharmonic was named after Gabdulla Tukay.

After the war, artists began to actively tour the country. In the 50s, the famous jazz orchestra was created here, led by Oleg Lundstrem. A few years later he was transferred to Moscow.

In 2000, the Philharmonic Hall (Kazan) was reconstructed. Now it is equipped with the latest equipment and is designed for 610 listeners.

The Philharmonic Hall conducts educational activities, introduces listeners and spectators to the national art of Tatarstan and world classics, and organizes music festivals. For the year, artists hold over eight hundred concerts. They participate not only soloists and philharmonic groups. Among the invited guests are famous conductors, vocalists, musicians from other countries.

The Philharmonic not only organizes its concerts, but also takes an active part in various cultural events of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as in Russia and abroad.

Museum

Philharmonic Society (Kazan) in 1997 opened its own museum. Since 2012, its head is A.A. Khakimova. The museum collects and stores materials about the history of the philharmonic.
