Ombre means the transition from one color to another, from dark to light. A cake made using this technique looks stylish and appetizing. Many are convinced that such beauty is obtained only by confectioners and restaurant chefs. But this is not so. Any housewife can make an ombre cake. The main thing is to follow the instructions described below.
Cake "Ombre" from biscuit cakes
Grocery set:
- 50 g of pink dye;
- low-fat milk - 6 tbsp. l;
- 3 biscuit cakes;
- 2 tbsp. l vanilla essence;
- 450 g butter;
- 12 glasses of powdered sugar.
Cooking:
- In a bowl we put half of the oil we have, 1 tbsp. l essence, 6 cups icing sugar and 2 tbsp. l of milk. Whip it all with a powerful mixer.
- Put the first cake on the dish. Coat it with the cream obtained earlier. You can also sprinkle with pieces of berries or chopped nuts. Then put the second cake, which is also lubricated with cream. We get a cake. From all sides, coat it with cream, level the layer. Now we put the dessert in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.
- Let's start cooking another batch of cream. To do this, mix the same ingredients (milk, essence, butter and powder) and in what quantity. The resulting cream is divided into 3-4 parts. What's next? In each bowl we breed dye, but in a different consistency. We should get close to each other shades of pink.
- We take out the frozen cake from the refrigerator. Coat it with a new layer. Bottom should be a more concentrated cream. In other words, the darkest shade. And on top there will be a white cream. The process of preparing a delicious and original dessert is completed. Now you need to send the Ombre cake (see photo above) to the middle shelf of the refrigerator. Ombre cake: recipe with mastic
Essential Ingredients:
- 1 glass of flour and sugar;
- 160 ml of milk;
- eggs - 4 pcs.;
- a pack of butter (not more than 200 g);
- 1 tbsp. l baking powder;
- 20% cream - 200 ml;
- 130 g of starch.
For cream:
- 200 g of powdered sugar and cream cheese;
- half a glass of cherry;
- 300 ml cream (33% fat) chilled;
- 100 g of condensed milk;
- a pack of butter (150 g will be enough).
For mastic:
- 1/3 cans of condensed milk;
- 150 g of powdered sugar and milk powder;
- Β½ tsp food coloring (color can be any);
- 2 tsp juice squeezed from lemon.
Cooking Instructions
Step number 1. First you need to make cakes. In a bowl, combine the proteins and half a glass of sugar. Beat using a mixer. In another bowl, we should have yolks and butter, sprinkled with the remaining half of the sugar. Whip it all.
Step number 2. Pour cream and milk into the bucket. Heat on fire. It is not necessary to bring to a boil.
Step number 3. Take another bowl. We put in it starch, baking powder and flour. Mix these ingredients.
Step number 4. In the large dishes we transfer the contents of each of the bowls. Mix. The resulting dough is divided into 3 parts - on different plates. That's not all. A few teaspoons of dough are placed in a separate plate. Add dye to them. If you get a bright and saturated shade, then we did everything right.
Step number 5. In the dough for the first cake, put 1 tsp. Of dyed dough. What are our next steps? The second cake should be slightly darker. To achieve this, add 3 tsp. Of dyed dough to the appropriate bowl. Now we need to get the most saturated shade. In a third bowl, put 4-5 teaspoons of dough mixed with dye.
Step number 6. We set 3 molds for cakes (at least 16 cm in diameter). Pour dough into each of them. Preheat the oven. We send forms with contents to it. At 180 Β° C, the cakes will be baked for half an hour. We take them out of the oven, allow to cool completely.
Step number 7. Let's do the cream. Combine powdered sugar with cheese. Beat, gradually adding cream.
Step number 8. We are preparing a ombre cake with a filling. In this case, it is cherry. Frozen berries (seedless) put in a pan. Pour sugar (4 tbsp. L). We put on the stove. Once the sugar has dissolved, add 2 tbsp. To the pan. l water connected to 1 tbsp. l starch. Cook the resulting mass for 30-40 seconds, setting a minimum fire. We will use the filling in the cooled form.
Step number 9. We proceed to the assembly of the cake. First, put on the dish the lightest cake. We coat with cream. Cover with cake, which is slightly darker. Smear the cream. Put the last, darkest cake. It must be covered with a special cream. It is prepared simply: beat with a mixer 100 g of condensed milk and 150 g of butter. We remove our cake on the middle shelf of the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Step number 10. It remains to make the last element - mastic. In a bowl we combine powdered cracker and powdered milk in the right quantities. Gradually pour the condensed milk (1/3 of the can). To improve the taste, add lemon juice. Sprinkle the table with cracker powder. We put mastic on it. Knead the mass, continuing to pour powdered sugar into the center. Then we send the mastic to the refrigerator for a maximum of half an hour. If you want to dye it in any color, then before mixing, drop a drop of helium dye into the mass.
After 30 minutes, roll the mastic, after sprinkling the table with starch. Then we cover it with a cake. We remove all unnecessary. From this you can make flowers and leaves for decoration.
Our delicious dessert is ready. And where is the ombre effect? To see it, you need to cut the cake. It looks very beautiful. Is not it?
