Puppet theater in Izhevsk opened in the first half of the XX century. On its stage are performances for children and adults. Actors work with various types of dolls, as well as using a live plan and masks.
Theater History
The Puppet Theater in Izhevsk, whose photo is presented in this article, received its first spectators in 1935. The first troupe did not have its own premises, and therefore the artists showed off-road performances. Mostly they worked in villages. The actors showed most of the performances in the Udmurt language. Soon the troupe received its own building.
The puppet theater in Izhevsk changed addresses several times. During the war, he lost his premises. Then the artists began to perform in hospitals, clubs and even in private apartments. In 1945, the theater received a new building. Today it is located at: Lomonosov street, house number 9.
In the 60s, the Puppet Theater (Izhevsk) began to often go on tour. First, in the regions of the republic, then in Russia.
In the 70s, the troupe began to actively participate in festivals, which it continues to do with success until now.
In the 80s, the repertoire was replenished with a large number of new performances.
In 1993, the theater was awarded the State Prize of the Republic in the field of art for its great contribution to the work of educating the younger generation.
The year 2006 was marked by the beginning of a major overhaul. The process of its holding was kept under personal control by the president of Udmurtia. The appearance and interior of the theater are very much transformed. All systems and equipment are replaced with the most modern. Repair continued for several years.
Since 2008, the post of director has been held by Alexei Nikolaevich Petrov. Thanks to him, the troupe did not stop working during all the transformations in the theater. Actors continued to delight the audience with performances, and also worked on new productions. Work went on at various venues in the country: in kindergartens, on the stages of theaters, in schools, and in a music school. All this went on for about three years. During this period, seven premieres took place.

Most of them are still in the repertoire of Izhevsk puppeteers. The theater from the very beginning of its foundation set itself the main goal - to work for small spectators of the city and the republic. Over the years of its existence, he has released more than three hundred performances. Three thousand odd dolls were made.
Today, the post of chief director of the theater is held by Galina Aleksandrovna Likhatskaya. Director - A.N. Petrov. The troupe has been awarded many different awards, diplomas, medals, prizes.
The theater has its own peculiarity: many actors in the troupe know the Udmurt language well. Thanks to this, the theater often performs productions based on the works of famous authors of the republic, who wrote their works in their native language.
