The actor was born in Kiev on November 3, 1955. He was brought up in an ordinary family. The mother of Alexander Fedorovich, Catherine Boyko-Ignatush, was a creative person. Therefore, it is not surprising that the boy was brought up in an atmosphere of love for music and poetry. By the way, Alexander Ignatusha recently published a collection of poems by his mother. In 1976, he graduated from the Leonid Oleinik course at the Kiev National University of Theater, Film and Television named after I.K. Karpenko-Kary. And in 1984 he studied at the Higher Courses of scriptwriters and directors in the workshop of Eldar Ryazanov.

Creative way

In the course work of the young director called “Visit”, such outstanding Soviet actors as Alexander Filipenko and Nina Ruslanova were shot. Then the films “Ordan” and “Flowering of the Kulbaba” were shot. Alexander Ignatusha tried his hand at creating documentaries. However, the nineties were not the best time for Ukrainian cinema, and the director decided to try his luck in the United States. The filming of a documentary dedicated to the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church lasted about three years. They were held both in Ukraine and in the USA. But the movie never came out. Alexander Fedorovich says that the businessman did not work out of him. In addition, the rights to the picture were disputed by American colleagues, but I did not want to get involved in legal costs. But the stay in the United States did not pass for Ignatushi in vain. He completed an internship at the Broadway Theater La Mama, where he studied the basics of staging a musical.

Cinema is not the only creative field, first of all Ignatusha Alexander is an actor in the theater. From 1978 to 1982 he served at the Lesya Ukrainka Kiev Academic Theater. From 1995 to 1998, Alexander Ignatusha taught the basics of stage art and direction at Mikhail Poplavsky University and the Kiev Theater Institute.
