Senade: tablets for constipation

Today, laxatives are actively used in medicine to achieve a variety of goals. The best and harmless in this area are herbal preparations - for example, such as Senade. Pills with a reasonable approach will not only help get rid of any constipation, but also solve many other health problems.

Composition and application

The international name is Sennosides A & B (Sennosides A and B). The drug is an extract from the leaves of the narrow-leaved and holly-leaved plant Senna (Cassia). Available in blister packs of 20 or 50 pieces.

Usually, Senada tablets are 13.5 mg of active substance, but there are forms in the form of chewable lozenges and cubes with different tastes (vanilla or chocolate). The pharmacological effect of this drug is due to the laxative effect, which is usually achieved 8-10 hours after use.

When treating constipation, tablets are prescribed for oral administration at bedtime. A single dose for adults and children over 12 years old is 1-2 tablets. In the absence of a positive result, after a few days, it can be increased to 3 tablets at a time.

For children from 6 to 12 years, a one-time norm is half a tablet, and for children from a year to 6 years - one third. In the absence of effect in children, an independent increase in the dose is not recommended - in this case, you must consult a doctor.

Despite the fact that the drug was created on a plant basis, not everyone can use Senade. Contraindications affect the presence of a strangulated hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, including peritonitis, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, metrorrhagia, cystitis, spastic constipation, and disturbances in water-electrolyte metabolism.

In addition, the drug must be used very carefully during pregnancy and lactation, with liver or kidney failure, and during the recovery period after abdominal surgery.

"Senade" - pills have a fairly large list of side effects. But most often they occur if a person significantly exceeds the recommended dose. Possible side effects include a lack of potassium, proteinuria, hematuria, intestinal melanosis, abdominal pain of a spastic nature, increased flatulence, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, skin rash and vascular collapse.

Solving physiological problems

Basically, the drug is used to treat constipation, with hypotension and atony of the gastrointestinal tract, sluggish peristalsis of the colon and during preparation for x-ray studies of the body.

It is not recommended to use the drug for a long time because of the possibility of depletion of intestinal microflora. Otherwise, the work of this body will be significantly complicated.

The drug in dietetics

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of diets that offer quick ways to lose weight by forced bowel movement. Many people believe that even after overeating, Senade tablets, the use of which allows the gastrointestinal tract to work better, will help, if not lose weight, at least not increase your weight.

This is partly true. But if you abuse the effect of this drug, then the onset of side effects is simply inevitable. Therefore, the desire to lose weight with the help of laxatives can ultimately adversely affect the overall health of a person.

The best way to use the Senade drug in dietetics (tablets can be inexpensively purchased at any pharmacy) is to prepare the body for fasting. Before starting even a short, daily fasting, it is necessary to clear the intestines of feces so that after stopping food intake they do not stagnate. And they did not poison the body.

If you adhere to these recommendations and do not abuse the laxative effect of Senade, it can help solve many of your problems.
