Injections are indicated for serum sickness, angioedema, hemorrhagic vasculitis, anaphylactoid reactions (in particular, anaphylactic shock), acute iridocyclitis, as well as in the case of pseudo-allergic and allergic reactions. Thus, the drug "Tavegil", the indications for use of which include a lot of different conditions, can be safely called a universal antihistamine. However, like most medicines, it is not suitable for use by all patients. So, you should not use the drug "Tavegil" in the presence of the following conditions: lower respiratory tract diseases, asthma, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, pyloric stenosis, thyrotoxicosis and arterial hypertension. Also, you can not take this drug to women who are in an interesting position and breastfeeding. In addition, it is undesirable to combine its use with alcohol and monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
The drug "Tavegil": dosage
This drug in the form of tablets is taken in the morning and evening at a dose of 1 mg. In case of severe allergies, an increase in the daily dose is allowed, but not more than twice. Children aged 6 to 12 years are recommended half the dose of an adult. The daily dose of Tavegil syrup for an adult is 20 ml (10 ml each morning and evening), for a child aged 3 to 12 years old - 10 ml, and for a baby up to three years old - 2 ml.
