Pedigree
The Germanic family German moved to Ukraine at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The great-great-grandfather of the singer founded a village near the city of Berdyansk, now called Olgino. It was there that Anna's grandfather Friedrich was born. He studied in Poland, in the city of Lodz. In 1910, Eugen German was born in this village. In total, Frederick had nine children, with whom he returned home after studying.
In 1929, Friedrich fell under repression, he faces five years in the camps. He withstands only one and a half, then dies of hunger somewhere in the Arkhangelsk region.
His children are also in danger. Willy's eldest son manages to escape to Germany. Eugen ends up in the Donbass, where he worked for some time as an accountant in a mine. But the fear of reprisal does not give him rest. To protect his family (wife Alma and son Rudy), he escapes from home.
In the end, he finds himself in the Uzbek town of Urgench. There he meets Irma Martens. She is German by birth, she works as a teacher at a local school. Eugen immediately finds a soul mate in her . February 14, 1936 a couple is born a daughter. Her name will subsequently be recognized by the whole world. After all, she is the future singer - Anna Victoria German.
Childhood
Soon Anna's younger brother Frederick was born. It would seem that the family should be happy. However, the feeling of anxiety did not leave the head of the family. In September 1937, Eugen was arrested on charges of espionage. He was sentenced to ten years, but almost immediately after the sentencing of his father, Anna was transferred to Tashkent and executed there as an enemy of the people.
The family did not know anything about this. He just disappeared from their lives. Only in 1975, his younger brother managed to get documents confirming the death of Eugen.
In 1938, another sorrow comes to the family. Friedrich dies of an illness. Now there is only two-year-old Anna, mother Irma and grandmother Anna Friesen. Women decide to flee an unlucky country. For a long time they cannot find a real home. Wherever they lived: in Novosibirsk and Tashkent. The longest time the family lived in Dzhambul, where it met the Great Victory of 1945. In this city, Anna is finishing three classes.
Here Irma marries the Polish officer Herman Berner, who dies in 1943. It is thanks to this marriage that they freely leave for Poland in 1946. It seems that the time of wandering is over.
The first three years, Anna Herman, whose biography seems incredible, lives with her mother and grandmother in the city of Nova Ruda. Irma works as a daygirl, she is given a tiny little room in a hostel.

I had to tour a lot in small towns with a team consisting of a leader, musicians, ballerinas, performers. Sometimes they gave three concerts a day. Such a life was exhausting, but the singer Anna German, for whom creativity was an essential element of life, believed in a better future.
In parallel with the tour, the girl continued to prepare for final exams and defending her diploma. She successfully managed to do all this in 1961.
After an unsuccessful rating commission in Warsaw, Herman meets Mark Bernes, who awakens her heavy memories of childhood and war. Having returned home, the girl found a letter in which the famous pan Kshivka invited her to the Rzeszow stage. It is thanks to this work that Herman gets to the international festival in Sopot in 1963.

Car accident
Everyone predicted a great future for the young girl. But trouble knocked on the door again. In August 1967, she returned to the hotel in Milan by car. The driver showed crazy negligence and fell asleep at the wheel on a mountain road. The car flew at full speed into a concrete fence.

Illness and death
Everything in the singerโs life was wonderful. Loving husband, beloved son, precious work. But at the end of 1970, Herman recognized a terrible diagnosis: her leg pain was a sarcoma. Despite the terrible news, the artist decides to continue the planned tour. She manages to visit Kazakhstan, Australia. German gives one of his last concerts in Moscow. Overcoming the pain, she performed on stage. At one of the concerts, after long singing for an encore, Herman even lost consciousness.
In Warsaw, Anna underwent several complex operations, but failed to save the singer. She died out on August 25, 1982. Buried in Warsaw.
