In domestic stores, licorice sweets are quite problematic. Usually they are imported to us from abroad, where such sweets are very popular. However, stores are in no hurry to order them, since the demand for such goods has not yet been studied. That is why people who prefer licorice sweets find recipes for making them at home.

Typically, liquorice candy recipes suggest the fresh root of this plant. This is very problematic for urban residents, and for those who live in the north of the country, it is almost impossible. Therefore, as an alternative, it is proposed to use the licorice root medicine, which contains ground licorice root. To make sweets you will need:

- Licorice root syrup - 2 vials.

- Edible gelatin - 30 grams.

First you need to fill the gelatin with a glass of cool but boiled water, and leave it in a warm place for swelling. Further, the resulting substance must be heated on low heat for complete dissolution. After this, the resulting mass must be filtered so that pieces of gelatin do not remain.

At the next stage, licorice root syrup is added to future licorice sweets and a little more heated to evaporate the alcohol. It turns out to be a rather unpleasant-looking mucus with a characteristic odor. It must be poured into specially prepared forms or on a plate. In professional confectioneries, future licorice sweets are poured into starch, on which special cavities are squeezed out using special forms. Thus, the frozen candy will take the necessary shape. If it is not possible to use starch, then the candy frozen in a plate can be cut with an ordinary knife or with a cookie cutter.
