So what do we need? 7 steaks of pork, 8 medium-sized potatoes, 2 eggs, a couple of onions, a few cloves of garlic, a glass of cream (or sour cream) and a little flour. You also need vegetable oil, fresh herbs, salt and pepper - according to individual preferences. You can use a ready-made mixture of spices, for example, “for barbecue” or “for pilaf”.

  • First of all, we wash the steaks and dry them a little with a kitchen towel or napkins to remove excess moisture from them.
  • Then beat the flesh with a little hammer on all sides - but do not overdo it, the steaks should remain intact. At the same time, they will increase in size by about 2 times. Then we cut the resulting pieces in half, add salt to taste and sprinkle with ground pepper.

  • We cut onions into cubes (you can use thin short strips, but not rings or half rings), put them in a container prepared in advance.
  • We rub the potato coarsely, put it in the dishes to the onion.

  • We introduce 2 eggs into the same container, add a little flour, a third of a glass of sour cream or fat cream, chopped garlic, chopped with a knife or a special press, chopped fresh herbs (parsley, dill, in some variations you can also use cilantro).
  • Add salt with pepper (or seasonings) to the mass according to personal taste preferences, knead until a thick homogeneous mixture.
  • Now we dip each of the pieces of the beaten pulp into the cooked mixture in such a way that we get a mass, similar to batter, covering the steaks. We thoroughly heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the beaten flesh from each side to a golden brown crust.
  • We shift the fried pieces into a silicone or metal mold. Mix the remaining potato mass with the remaining cream, pour the meat. We cover the container for baking with a piece of food foil, put the future pork in a steppe manner in the oven, heated to 180-200 ° . Bake about forty minutes. But the advice: after about half an hour, it is better to remove the foil so that for the remaining time the dish becomes covered with a crust - golden and crispy. And in the last minutes of cooking, you can turn on the "grill" mode (if one is provided in your oven).

Now that the pork in the steppe is finally ready, we can serve the food to the table. It is quite independent, so many people prefer to eat even without a side dish. But a great addition to the dish will be boiled rice, stewed vegetables, a salad of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, as well as all kinds of pickles.

The dish should be consumed hot. But if it remains, it does not matter. The next day, you can reheat in the microwave or oven. It will be almost as tasty as immediately after cooking.

So, we need to take: a kilogram of pork without stones, 200 grams of hard cheese, a couple of onions, a little vegetable oil, a couple of potatoes, half a glass of sour cream, 2 eggs. We add salt and spices according to your taste preferences. In addition, it should be noted: some types of cheese are too salty - in this case, salt may not be required at all.
