According to the plot, Sandokan is a pirate chieftain fighting with the British authorities in the South China Sea. The filming process for the most part took place in Malaysia. The mini-series was shot jointly by four countries: Italy, Germany, Britain and France.
When "Sandokan - Tiger of the Seven Seas" finally hit the screen, the handsome Kabir with an aristocratic appearance, piercing eyes and a black beard so impressed the imagination of Europeans that it instantly became a world celebrity.
