That day was remembered by the actors of the theater, guests and spectators of the theater for a long time. On stage, the events of the production of "Number 13" unfolded based on the play by Ray Cooney. And in the theatrical horizon that night a new star lit up - a new Comedy Theater was born in Moscow ... This event happened in 2009, January 31.
Student production
The director of the very first performance was a graduate student Sergei Efremov, who since 2011 has been officially appointed director and artistic director of the Comedy Theater. But in 2009, after graduation, students of several courses decided to combine their creative efforts to create a single diploma work. So it turned out the production of "Number 13".
But after that memorable performance in 2009, the newly minted theater “lived” for only one season. Yes, and his building was not yet, and even the name! Because everything happened on the stage of the Theater Institute. B. Schukin. And the play "Number 13" was soon removed from the repertoire, because the students who played in it graduated from the educational institution and graduated.
The further development of the young theater
But the director and future director of the theater continued with manic persistence to look for opportunities for his performance “Number 13” to be on stage again! And life led him to the Moscow Romen Theater, in which he, together with Alexander Klimushin, decides to stage the production.
They restore the scenery, acquire costumes and everything necessary for the performance at the expense of personal funds. Soon, together with the Art Voyage agency, they organized the Student Environment creative festival, which again staged the performance Number 13. The performance was brilliant and was a huge success. The performance continues to live on stage for some time, but then for 6 months its performance is suspended - for several reasons, the financial plan.
In 2010, the festival "New Premiere" and again on the stage "Number 13". In the same period, a student troupe was formed and the theater already officially declares itself as a Moscow comedy theater, but does not yet have a status as such. A new production of “Tariff Love” (based on the novel by N. Kolyada) directed by Vyacheslav Ivanov appears.
And in 2011, in May, the theater gains official status, with director Sergey Efremov standing at the head.
And to this day, the Comedy Theater in Moscow has been welcoming guests. Address: Nakhimovsky Avenue, 35.

In the fall of 2017, it is planned to show a number of performances in the Comedy Theater (Moscow):

The theater tours a lot in Russian cities (Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg and others). In 2013, an international project was organized together with Poland.
The Comedy Theater (Moscow) together with the foundation of the College of Eastern Europe (Poland), as well as together with the H. Modzheevskaya Theater in Legnica created their first Polish-Russian project. The name of the project is “The First Polish-Russian Theater School”, which is also headed by Sergey Efremov. He is supported by the stars of the world theater - Andrzej Wajda and others.
