Voltaren in ampoules is administered intravenously. The daily dose should not exceed 150 milligrams. Before administration, the contents of the ampoule are diluted in 100-500 milliliters of a five percent dextrose solution with the addition of sodium bicarbonate.
The duration of the infusion is determined by the severity of the pain syndrome. It can be from thirty to one hundred and eighty minutes.
To prevent postoperative pain, infusion is carried out using a “shock” dose (twenty-five to fifty milligrams in fifteen to sixty minutes). Subsequently, drip administration is continued at a rate of five milligrams per hour until the maximum permitted daily dose is reached.
In acute conditions or for relief of exacerbation of the chronic form of the disease, a single intramuscular injection is allowed. A further treatment course is carried out by oral administration of the drug, taking into account the maximum permissible dosage - 150 milligrams (including on the day of injection).
Conducting long-term therapy involves control over liver function, peripheral blood picture, feces analysis for the presence of occult blood.
During treatment, patients may decrease the speed of motor and psychomotor reactions. In this regard, it is recommended to limit activities requiring increased attention.
