Under body art is understood the art of drawing the body. Body painting on the face and other parts of the body originated in the Stone Age. The main purpose of the picture is to show the position of its owner in the tribe, his hunting or military merits. Drawings on the face always emphasized what a person is known for, were applied with charcoal, clay, fruit juices.
Thus, the body painting of the face was a kind of identification mark, a symbol, since they still did not have time to come up with other designations such as asterisks, bastards on pagons.
As a form of art, body painting on the face appeared in the 60s of the 20th century, and gained popularity at the beginning of this century, as the personification of extreme, unusual manifestations of human features.
In its pure form, body art on the face can be seen on the catwalks during fashion shows, on stage, at youth discos, parties, with an advertising purpose - in the company logos.
Face drawings can be made in a children's style, in the form of
floral ornaments, with the image of animals, for example, zodiac signs, landscapes, vivid images of insects. Patterns can be combined with various sparkles. There is body painting on the face with a pattern that causes fear or disgust: a skull, ugly scars, bleeding wounds, a spider, etc.
Pure body art is rare in everyday life, but its elements are not so rare. Representatives of some youth movements (punks, Goths) used certain drawings on their faces that emphasized their belonging to this direction. Football fans paint faces to emphasize their devotion to their favorite team.
A face decorated with a carnival mask will make you irresistible, and the serpentine, feline or leopard style of the picture is shocking, it looks extravagant and bewitching.
It is believed that if makeup does not correct facial features, but exaggerates it, for example, too bright lips or shadows, rhinestones and glitter are elements of body painting.
Body painting on the face is considered by many to be something defiant and indecent, like a body tattoo. But unlike tattoos, body painting is harmless to health: it does not injure the skin, almost does not cause allergies, is easily washed off.
You can perform drawings on the face with the help of cosmetic pencils or special paints - face painting. They are safe for the skin and can be easily removed with oily cream or soap and water.
Do not use mascara or gel paste. They can cause allergies and leave marks after rinsing, and also look unpleasant.
Do not use theatrical makeup. Although harmless, it does not breathe under it.
Many paint their faces to stand out in some way from the monotonous faceless crowd.
You cannot consider body painting to be ugly or unpleasant. Having pulled a mask of a devil or Baba Yaga on the face at the New Year's carnival, we will not become meaner and uglier in life. What is worse drawing on the face? After all, a festive night happens only once a year, and people always want to have a good mood. Why not cheer yourself up and show off after a hard day by painting your face? If only this creativity did not bring harm to health.
