Treatment of dermatitis in a child, taking into account the etiology

Atopic dermatitis is a specific allergic reaction of the child's body. In most cases, this skin lesion is manifested by redness and a rash, which is accompanied by severe itching. A sick child is excited, crying, sleeps poorly.

How to treat dermatitis in children, if it is based on allergic reactions? The key to successful therapy is the complete exclusion of contact with an allergen that provokes skin lesions. Sick children are recommended a hypoallergenic diet and consultation of a neuropsychiatrist or psychologist, since such dermatological problems can occur against the background of psychological disorders and constant stress.

Drug treatment of dermatitis in a child in this case consists in taking sedative and antihistamines. To reduce skin itching, special ointments and pastes for external use are prescribed. A positive effect is given by bathing a sick child in decoctions of chamomile, string and hypericum.

In severe cases, ointments may be prescribed, which include hormones. If the bacterial flora joins, then it is recommended to treat the affected areas of the skin with local antibacterial and antiseptic agents.

The skin of babies is extremely sensitive to any irritants (feces, urine, cosmetics, wet or synthetic diapers). To prevent diaper dermatitis in children, it is enough to thoroughly cleanse the skin, using only natural-based products, conduct air baths and, if necessary, use pastes containing zinc, lanolin, as well as a decoction of the string or tincture of calendula. The main thing in the treatment of this disease is the elimination of the irritating factor.
