Ingredients

The composition of the ingredients is very simple, but requires some nuances to be taken into account. It is better to take flour not of the highest grade, as for rich pastries, but of the first. It contains a slightly larger amount of bran, so the yeast donuts are less harmful. So, to prepare this treat you will need:

  • flour - 1 kg;
  • high-speed yeast - 30 g;
  • salt - 10 g;
  • sugar - 120 g;
  • water - 0.6 l;
  • egg - 2 pcs.;
  • butter or margarine - 60 g;
  • vegetable oil - 2 tsp;
  • icing sugar - 60 g.

You will also need a large amount of vegetable oil. The exact amount depends on the size of the container in which you will cook. It turns out very tasty dough for donuts in milk, but in accordance with GOST they are cooked on water.

Kneading dough

For donuts, yeast dough is cooked in a gratuitous way. Dissolve dry yeast in warm water, add sugar, salt, add the egg, pour the sifted flour in small portions, carefully stirring the mass with a spatula each time. If you decide to make donuts in milk, then use it instead of water. Knead an elastic, very soft dough that does not stick to your fingers. Pour in the melted butter and continue kneading for a few more minutes. Form a large kolobok from the dough, coat with vegetable oil on all sides, place in a large bowl or enamel pan. Cover with a clean cloth and leave in a warm place to lift. After 2-2.5 hours, knead the dough, put it in a bowl again, cover and set to rise. After two hours, knead the dough again, and then you can proceed to the formation of donuts.

Yeast dough

Please note that the dough turns out to be very soft, but you do not need to add more flour than indicated in the recipe, otherwise the finished dish will come out not so airy and porous.

How to make donuts

Pour a little vegetable oil onto the work surface and lay out the dough. Divide into 5-6 parts and roll each into a thin 4 cm thick tourniquet. Cut into small pieces with a knife and roll into balls of diameter like a walnut. Put the balls on a flat surface, cover with a clean cloth and leave for half an hour to lift. Then make a hole in each kolobok with your index finger or wooden stick - and you can start frying the donuts. It is not necessary to make a hole in the middle, donuts of a round shape are no less tasty. Just with a hole they look more interesting.

Donut dough

Please note that donuts in flour are categorically not recommended: during frying, it will char to black and spoil the taste of the finished dish.

Deep-frying

Pour vegetable oil into a deep fat fryer or other container. Fat should be enough to cover the pieces of dough in half. If you do not have a deep fryer, you can use any deep capacity: enameled, aluminum, cast-iron, stainless pan, stewpan, wok pan. So how to make donuts? Heat fat to 180 degrees. If there is no thermometer, focus on the power of fire: fry should be at an average level. Put the donuts in hot oil and fry on each side for about 3 minutes. Do not put a lot of dough at once, otherwise the products will stick together and do not have time to cook from the inside. You can take it out and turn it over with cooking tongs, a slotted spoon or just a fork. Put the fried donuts on paper towels to get rid of excess fat, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy the great taste!
