Alexander Titov in 1977 played in a group together with Alexander Lyapin and Mikhail Malin. In 1979, having received an invitation from Yuri Ilchenko, who was the guitarist of the Myths band, he joined the Earthlings band. From 1982 to 1983 he was a member of Augustus.

In 1983, Dyusha Romanov, a musician of the Aquarium group, suggested that Alexander visit the recording of Radio Africa. The work was carried out in a mobile recording studio "Melody". Then the bassist of the Aquarium band Mikhail Fainshtein-Vasiliev was absent. During the recording of the mentioned album, Alexander played bass for the song “Moon Time”. In the summer of 1983, during the rock festival in Vyborg, the bass player received an offer from Boris Grebenshchikov for the final transition to the Aquarium.

He played in this team in the early period of creativity from 1983 to 1989, and from 1992 to 1996. At the same time, Alexander collaborated with the Kino group in 1984-1985. Titov is the only musician on the Aquarium who participated in work on Boris Grebenshchikov's English-language album, Radio Silence.

This record is 1989 release. In 1990, Alexander co-founded the studio called Fontanka. She was engaged in producing the first album of the Hummingbird group. Alexander was a permanent member of the show orchestra "Pop Mechanics" Sergei Kurekhin.

In addition to creative activities at Aquarium, he became a musician and producer of a musical group called Rina Green. The daughter of Alexander is the artist Vasilisa Grebenshchikova. The second wife of the musician Alena Titova is a linguistic scientist and leader of the Rina Green group. It is known that in total the bassist has three children.
