The mechanism of drug action is based on a decrease in platelet aggregation (gluing) due to inhibition of the synthesis of thromboxane A2 (short-lived compound) in them. At a minimum therapeutic dosage (fifty milligrams), the drug reduces the concentration of this compound and its products in serum by more than 90%.
