early years
Vladimir Rogovoy was born in Kiev. But even before the war, the family moved to Izhevsk. The parents of the future filmmaker were doctors. The Rogovs were invited to the capital of Udmurtia due to a shortage of doctors. Vladimir’s childhood passed in a small, two-story house, the inhabitants of which were exclusively medical workers. Horny carried his love for his native land through his whole life. When he became a famous director, he regularly organized premieres of paintings in Izhevsk.
In his school years, Vladimir attended a drama club organized by one of his teachers. In the productions, as a rule, he played the main roles. It was also extremely musical. In high school, Vladimir became the leader of the first jazz ensemble in the school.
War
Vladimir Rogovoi is a director who is remembered today, primarily due to the film "Officers". He made several war films. Rogovoi knew firsthand the events that reflected these films. He was barely eighteen when the war broke out. The future director, like other young men living in the neighborhood, went to the front as a volunteer.
In 1943, an event occurred with Rogov that he remembered until the last days of his life. There are three in the dugout: company commander, political instructor, and Vladimir. They are twenty-five years old. Senior comrades argue that they won’t survive until victory. What a pity ... Vladimir is optimistic. He believes that everyone will survive, and dreams out loud about how, after the victory, they will go home, find girls for themselves. Just a few minutes - a direct hit in the dugout. Of the three, only a young soldier, the future director Vladimir Rogovoi, survived.
Director of the picture
After the war, he entered VGIK. But not to the directing department, but to the economic. Vladimir Rogovoy is a producer of such films as “Anna on the Neck”, “Ginger”, “First Snow”. True, earlier this post was called differently - the director of the picture.
As a director, Rogova made his film debut in 1968.
"Suitable for non-combatant"
The film premiered in 1968. The protagonist of the film “Fit for Drill” is rookie Volodya Danilin. He gets to the front and in the very first days is appointed to the transport department. For some time, the rookie is not easy to adapt. But gradually he gets used to the front-line life, and then performs a small, but still a feat. Vladimir Rogovoi worked on this film with director Yefim Sevela.
"Officers"
The shooting of the picture, which brought fame to this director, ended in 1971. Initially, the filmmakers planned to devote to his officer wives. But subsequently, the work went far beyond the tasks set. Two authors worked on the script. One of them is the writer and playwright Boris Vasiliev.
The war was not only directed by Vladimir Rogovoy. Photos of the heroes of the film "Officers" are presented in this article. In one of the episodes, Trofimov, played by Georgy Yumatov, shows a wound scar. And this is not the result of the work of make-up artists. This scar is real.
