Prague salad: enjoy a special taste

Everyone knows that salad is the easiest and most interesting way to enrich our diet and makes both a casual and a festive table more diverse. Now, for preparing snacks, you can use almost all edible products, combining them as soon as our heart desires. A serious requirement can be called only one thing - the taste compatibility of the ingredients.

If, having looked in your refrigerator now, you will find the ingredients for an appetizer such as Prague salad, be sure to try to cook it and you will not regret it.

As is clear from the name of this dish, it refers to Czech cuisine. One of the features of this cuisine is the skillful preparation of meat dishes, and spices are of great importance. Such a dish as Prague salad is almost a sight, it is known in many countries and famous no less than Czech beer. Czech cuisine cannot be called the most suitable for vegetarians, but lovers will have a good and satisfying meal. Those who visited the Czech Republic were lucky to see an amazing and beautiful country with a high culture and special flavor of local cafes, where you can try the well-known Prague salad.

There are many options for its preparation: meat ingredients are replaced with chicken, turkey, etc. For starters, let's look at a classic Prague salad. The traditional version of this appetizer is prepared from veal and pork meat, which are taken in equal parts.

Salad Ingredients:

  • pickled cucumbers - two pieces;
  • veal - 200 grams;
  • pork - 200 grams;
  • an apple is one thing;
  • salad leaves, parsley and dill;
  • onions - 1 piece;
  • lemon juice - one tablespoon;
  • vegetable oil;
  • salt;
  • ground pepper, nutmeg, coriander;
  • mayonnaise - 4 tablespoons.

We take peeled cucumbers and an apple, cut them into strips. We cut the onion into half rings. We take the meat of veal and pork by weight in equal proportions and thoroughly washed. If you want to get softer and more flavorful meat, you should hold it in a marinade made from nutmeg, mustard and coriander before frying. For the marinade, add the nutmeg and coriander to the mustard little by little, stir it all, put the meat in it and put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

Prague salad with bell pepper

Pickled meat should be cut, preferably in strips, then fry in vegetable oil. We remove the finished meat to cool. Sliced ​​onions should be slightly fried, and mayonnaise mixed with lemon juice.

The dish on which we will place our salad is covered with lettuce leaves for starters. And already lay on them all the previously prepared ingredients, greasing each layer with a sauce consisting of lemon juice and mayonnaise. You can choose the sequence of layout layers at your discretion. Before serving, we recommend that you decorate the dish with greens on top.

For a change, you can make a Prague salad with bell pepper. Here, to all previously listed ingredients, Bulgarian pepper is only added.

Prague salad with chicken

And for those people who prefer chicken to all other types, Prague salad with chicken is ideal. This time, instead of veal and pork, we take half a kilogram of chicken breasts. Boil them in salted water, cool and cut into strips. Then one pickle, two medium onions, one apple and two sweet peppers are also cut into strips. All ingredients are laid out in layers and smeared with mayonnaise or sour cream.
