This picture showed the world several talented young actors at once. “On the Game” is the first film that can be attributed to the cyberpunk genre. We will find out who was the director and who starred in this exciting film.
Pavel Sanaev
If you do not know this person, then remember the movie "Scarecrow." Young Paul played the role of Vasiliev in it. He managed to star in five films before deciding to become a director. His autobiographical novel “Bury Me Behind the Baseboard” was a great success with readers and has been translated into several languages. In 2009, a film was made on it, but Pavel did not take part in its creation. Another no less famous work of the writer is “The Chronicles of the Gouging”. The author himself asks not to consider this novel autobiographical.

The film “On the Game” was released in 2009 and immediately attracted the attention of the younger generation. Sanaev knew what interested an audience aged 14 to 30 years. The picture was shot according to Alexander Chubaryan’s book, Games of Life. The director approached the filming with great responsibility and retained the main storyline. For the role in his film, he invited both famous and aspiring actors. “On the game,” as they say, shot and laid the foundation for the career of young artists.
Plot
Five best friends take part in an eSports tournament. They played for a long time, and the victory went to them deservedly. Together with gifts, they receive special discs, which they will test in the near future. Each of them launches a game on a computer at home and spends some time in virtual reality, developing his character. The next morning, all five discover in themselves the abilities inherent in their game heroes of yesterday. The ability to handle military weapons, professional car driving skills, martial arts skills - all this went to friends without any effort.

A random skirmish in a cafe leads to big problems with a criminal authority nicknamed Khizir. The guys have to rescue their friend Maxim from captivity. To do this, they were forced to kill all the bandits, including their leader. Such incidents have attracted the attention of the authorities, and the guys are forced to work for the FSB with blackmail. However, the assignments received from Colonel Lebedev seem too cruel to friends.
Soon they realize that they are trapped and are actually working for criminals. This did not bother one of the guys, and during the next operation, he betrayed friends. As a result, one of them died, the rest manage to leave. The film “On Game 2” in 2009 was already scheduled for release on the screens and became one of the most anticipated by a survey of viewers.
“On the game”: actors and roles
The film was shot in Nizhny Novgorod, which is easy to see in some panoramas and buildings. The scenes with the game of paintball and the Khizyr hangar were filmed in Moscow. Actors of the film “On the Game” in 2009 took part in the filming of two paintings at once. The second was released in April, just three months after the premiere.
Pavel Priluchny - Ruslan Avdeev (Doctor)
The young actor got a controversial role. He treasured friendship with the guys and the first came to the rescue. However, by the middle of the film, he had a great desire to get rich. The first easy money and the opportunity to earn it dishonestly turned the guy's head. He is ready to go on betrayal for the sake of his own material well-being.
The role of the Doc went to Pavel Priluchny, who was able to embody on the screen all the duality of the nature of this character. For the actor, this was the first notable role in a feature film. According to the script, he should walk with a tattoo on his neck, and make-up artists each time painted him the same drawing. In the second part, they did not have to do this - Paul made an identical tattoo.
Marina Petrenko - Rita Smirnova
The girl completely turned her career around, agreeing to star in the film by Pavel Sanaev. Prior to that, she had several roles in Ukrainian paintings, which did not bring her fame. It is especially worth noting that at the age of 14 she played Luba Kochubey in the scandalous film “Prayer for the Hetman Mazepa”. This tape was banned from showing in Russia due to its rating at the Berlin Film Festival. They stigmatized the film as "inciting ethnic hatred" and "a film for sex minorities."
“On the game” became a happy ticket for the actress - she began to be invited to shoot in popular TV shows. Soon, all of Russia and Ukraine already knew her name. In both parts of the film, she played a major female role.
Sergey Chirkov - Dmitry Orlov (Vampire)
For this actor, the role in the film also became crucial. One of the main characters of the film from the first frame attracted the viewer. The conscience of a group of friends, he could not come to terms with the decision of Doc and received a strong blow for this from a friend. Fortunately, he managed to regain consciousness and escape in the final scene.
Before the film “On the Game”, the actor managed to star in several films, but the roles were passing. After the release of both parts, Sergey’s popularity grew, and he began to act actively. At the moment, in his filmography there are already more than 30 paintings.
Tikhon Zhizhevsky - Konstantin Long
The young actor got the most tragic role. His hero dies from blood loss. He was seriously injured in the final battle with the bandits. In the film, Tikhon did not have to enter the image - the character seemed to write under him. A clumsy and too honest guy fit perfectly into the picture.
Until 2009, Tikhon managed to star in two films, preferring to give all his time to playing on the stage. After the “On the Game” project, he received several offers and starred in the film “Seven Feet Under the Keel”. At the moment, is actively involved in the productions of the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
