Loose millet porridge, cooked with fragrant tender meat, many consider the dish to be very satisfying and extremely tasty. But this way it will turn out only if the cereal is cooked correctly.
How to cook millet with meat tasty and right? We will talk about this in our article.
About the features of processing cereals before cooking
Experts consider millet one of the most polluted cereals. Therefore, experienced housewives recommend before going through it without fail to sort it out (clean from fine litter and damaged grains). Then the cereal is poured with warm water and shakes well, after which it is allowed to stand for five minutes. As a result, the water is drained along with all the debris that has surfaced on the surface. Then millet is again thoroughly washed. This procedure is repeated two to three more times to get rid of mulch (flour dust), which even in a small amount will make the porridge sticky.
In addition, fat appears on the surface of the grains during storage, giving the finished porridge a taste of bitterness. To avoid this, before cooking, millet must also be washed in hot water, under the influence of which the fat will dissolve and wash off.
Tip
Beginning housewives should take into account the fact that over time, millet groats begin to bitter. You should try not to buy it for the future. The store must always pay attention to the date of packaging. The optimal storage time for millet groats is about four months, then it ages and a bad taste appears in it.
