- The first step in making Russian rolls with herring is to prepare the rice. First, it must be washed well under running ice water to a translucent state. After that, boil the rice in water in a ratio of 1: 2 in a pan with a thick bottom so that it does not burn. Put water on the stove when it boils, pour rice. The procedure will take 10-15 minutes at minimum heat under a closed lid. During cooking, do not mix rice and open the lid. After cooking, it must be seasoned with vinegar and a little salt, mix and let cool well, without opening the lid.
- While the rice cools off to the side, it is necessary to tackle the fish, the main ingredient for herring rolls. It is necessary to peel it, remove the ridge and pull out absolutely all the bones. Peeled and gutted herring should be cut into longitudinal thin strips.
- Take a cucumber, wash and chop it in the same way as herring. We get the cheese, remove it from the packaging and cut it into strips.
- When all the ingredients are prepared, you can begin to wrap the rolls with herring. To do this, take the first sheet of nori from the package and lay it on a mat or silicone mat with the rough side up (smooth down). Soak the palms of your hands with cool water and moisturize the leaf with them.
