And now you catch yourself grunting: the youth is now not the same, and they have some incomprehensible songs. And you teach your son to listen to the hits performed by the Resurrection band: "Listen, listen, what a solo, a solo ..."
For me personally, “Resurrection” is inextricably linked with the name of Konstantin Nikolsky, although he appeared in the group only at the end of 1980. However, his songs have been performed almost since the founding of the collective - since 1979. Andrei Sapunov, who was well acquainted with Nikolsky and his songs, contributed to this. Here is the first line-up of members of the group, proudly called the "Sunday Band" rock band: Alexey Romanov, Sergey Kavagoe, Evgeny Margulis, Andrey Sapunov. In January 1980 Sergey Kuzmenok (trumpet, saxophone) joined them. The flight was swift, but short-lived: in the fall of 1980, the team broke up.
But the Resurrection group did not end their story on this. Konstantin Nikolsky, Andrey Sapunov and Mikhail Shevyakov continued to rehearse together. The case was decided by a telephone call to Nikolsky Romanov with a proposal to join. The end of 1980 can be considered the second birthday of the Resurrection.
Sound engineer A. Arutyunov noted this period of the collective’s existence as the time when serious professional work began. Konstantin at that time was a student at the Gnesinsky College of Music, he demanded full return at rehearsals. I quote Nikolsky himself: "I played quite a few notes, but it was quite stylish, that's all." So it turned out that any song of the group "Sunday", performed and recorded by this "golden" composition, still does not leave the listener indifferent. Admit it, hand on heart, that something like this aches in my chest and throat when you listen to "Night Bird" or "In my soul ..."
In the nineties, an attempt was made to assemble a team in this composition again, but it was unsuccessful. Romanov and Sapunov continued to perform Nikolsky’s songs in other groups.
The first time I saw Konstantin Nikolsky "live" at a concert at the Sports Palace in Chelyabinsk in the summer of 1987. Then his group was called "Mirror of the World", but still, having come to the concert, we expected from him the songs that were performed by the group "Resurrection". Our expectations were fully justified: we heard “One look back”, and “Musician”, and “Mirror of the world”, of course. After the concert we walked around the city at night and endlessly shared our impressions.
For some reason, there is an opinion that the Resurrection group is no longer interested in today's youth. I would not be in a hurry to agree with this. An example from life: on a bike rally in Irbit, such an age-old male biker performed acoustically at night near the fire "My friend, artist ..." The people gathered around the people did not agree on the authorship of the song, and my son flashed erudition: " So this is Nikolsky! " The performer was very surprised: "How do you know?" Yes, everything is very simple: if the guy’s parents used to listen to these songs, then willy-nilly and he was given love for Nikolsky’s works.
