: jam, jams, mashed potatoes and marmalade. And if you add other equally useful berries and fruits to them, experimenting with combinations, thereby you can increase the usefulness of products.
Simple compote
Strawberry billets, perhaps, have only one significant drawback: the required amount of berries, which is achieved only by patience and painstaking work. So, for an incomplete three-liter jar, you will need as much as 1 kg of fruit, and for jam to be enough for the whole family for at least autumn, you will need far more than one jar.
Therefore, a very economical option is such a strawberry harvesting option as compote. For those who do not like sweets too much, it is better to do it without sugar. So the taste will be more natural and with a pleasant sour tint. And if, on the contrary, it is enough to sweeten it, then it will be possible to dilute such a concentrated compote, thereby obtaining large volumes. For the first, you need to pick up the undamaged berries, peel them from the sepals and rinse thoroughly, then put them on a clean towel for drying, and then carefully put them in sterilized jars, pour boiling water and cover them with lids.
Other recipes
Strawberry billets of more complicated preparation are jam and jam. For the first, you will need 1 kg of the main berry + 250 g of red currant for a rich taste + 1 lemon to increase the usefulness and approximately 700-800 g of sugar.

So boil for another 20 minutes, then pour into banks and clog. This preparation can also be used in the preparation of other sweets, such as pies, cakes and muffins. Similarly, you can make other preparations for the winter, recipes can be supplemented with other fruits or even herbs. So, you will certainly be pleased with strawberry and rhubarb or currant jam, banana jam, candied fruit, or even hard marmalade. To prepare the latter per kilogram of berries, you will need 800 g of sugar, a glass of apple juice and 0.5 tsp. citric acid. Strawberries need to be steamed and rubbed through a sieve, then mixed with granulated sugar and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally. And when the mass becomes sufficiently thick, it remains only to add the juice and continue the heat treatment until a homogeneous test mass is obtained. In hot form it will need to be packaged and corked in banks.
