- Break the egg into yogurt, sprinkle salt and mix with a fork.
- Finely chop dill with a knife.
- Sift flour, divide into two identical parts. Pour the liquid base of the dough into one serving of flour and mix. Add onion with lard, chopped dill and mix well.
- Gradually pour in the rest of the flour and knead the dough, which should turn out to be quite soft, but not stick to your hands.
- Cover the dough with a towel and leave for half an hour.
- Divide the dough into 10 rolls.
- Roll the rolls with a rolling pin to make round cakes. Make punctures with a fork on them.
- Grease the pan with butter and spread cakes on it.
- Fry the onion cakes in a pan on both sides until golden brown.
Tips
For the preparation of cakes, you can take any onion: white and red onions, green, leeks. To soften the taste, it is pre-fried until soft and transparent in oil, but not until browning. In the cakes put not only fresh, but also pickled onions.
Before adding to the dough, green onions should be washed with salt by hand - so it will turn out more aromatic.
