Water corn. Dropsy on the hands. Dropsy on the foot

Water callus can appear in anyone. It arises as a result of strong pressure on any area of the skin. In the summer, such problems appear with special regularity, because the warm season is summer work, which provoke the appearance of corns on the hands. And the legs are “decorated” with dropsy after walking in new, beautiful and fashionable, but not quite comfortable shoes.

This problem is very painful, so you can not ignore it in any way. Today we will consider methods of treating corns on hands and feet, and preventing their occurrence.

dropsy on the foot

What is dropsy, and because of what it arises

Water corn is a soft, almost transparent blister in which the liquid is located. Most often, it can be found on the legs (on the fingers, between them, on the feet and heels), as well as on the fingers and palms of the hands. Although any other part of the body that has undergone prolonged friction can also be "decorated" with dropsy.

Probably, one should not say again that tight or wide (hanging on the foot) shoes can cause water callus. High heels, too, now and then become the cause of painful injuries. After all, the fingers and the sole near them in such shoes receive a special load, and if you add to this the feet that are wet on a hot day, the appearance of corns is almost inevitable.

How exactly does dropsy arise on the leg or arm

Initially, a slight redness appears on the mechanically exposed area of the skin, then it slightly swells, and a slight soreness occurs.

If at this moment you can stop working, then to prevent, for example, dropsy on your hands, cover the damage with a band-aid. Then, most likely, the blister does not occur, and no further treatment is needed.

And if you only catch on when the bubble has already formed, you will have to tinker with it. And although you will probably think that such damage is not very serious, you should remember that the place where the dropsy was torn off quickly becomes infected, which means that it requires special attention.

How to pierce a large water corn

The first thing anyone wants to do if they find dropsy on their arm or leg is to pierce it. However, this is just not worth doing, especially if the water corn is small. It just needs to be sealed with a bactericidal breathable patch and wait until it passes by itself. Do not forget to remove it periodically, thus providing air access. This will speed healing.

In cases where the damage is large and causes particular discomfort, it can be pierced. However, before you remove the corn, observe a number of mandatory rules.

  1. water corn treatment
Make a puncture no later than the first day after the occurrence of damage.
  2. Be sure to disinfect the surface of the water corn with hydrogen peroxide, and hold the needle over the fire.
  3. Make a puncture from the side, parallel to the surface of the skin, so as not to injure the delicate surface of the bottom of the corns (this is what most often provokes inflammation).
  4. In large corns, it is best to make several punctures to ensure the outflow of fluid, but try not to tear the skin: it will become a kind of “bandage” for the surface.
  5. In order to completely remove the liquid, firmly press the skin of the empty dropsy with a bandage soaked in peroxide.
  6. To prevent infection, grease the corn with greens or Levomekol ointment.

Water corn: treatment with folk remedies

One of the simplest folk remedies that help treat water calluses is a bath, prepared from dissolved in warm water salt in a ratio of 1 tbsp. spoon of product in 1 liter of water. Just do not take hot water, this can lead to the fact that the skin on the arms or legs becomes steamy, and the water corn will burst. The salt bath is done quickly (you can just rinse the limbs in it). A pink solution of potassium permanganate is also suitable in such cases. And, of course, it’s not bad at the same time to let the damaged surface rest for at least three days.

Aloe juice also helps. This natural antiseptic is applied in the form of a small piece of leaf, which is cut lengthwise to expose the pulp. Having applied the aloe vera with the inside to the wound, fix it with a band-aid and change it every six hours until it heals.

And plantain as a remedy is especially popular. It must be washed in cold water and, having crumpled a little, before the juice appears, apply to the damage.

How are signs of infection

Do not try to deal with these symptoms yourself! Go to the surgeon. If redness appears around your lesion and your skin swells, the pain in the wound becomes constant even if you don’t touch it, the fluid in the blister appears unclear, and yellow crusts appear around the opened corn - all these are signs of infection. Such phenomena can be accompanied by an increase in temperature, both general and local, as well as purulent discharge from the wound.

How to prevent the appearance of corns

Everyone understands that any problems are easier to prevent than to solve the consequences of their own negligence. This directly applies to dropsy on the arms and legs. You should know a number of simple rules so that later you do not have to treat painful injuries:

  • Shoes should always be selected in size and without a hint of any inconvenience. Even if the shoes are miraculous as good, you should not buy them with the thought that they eventually spread. Too tight a back in shoes can rub a heel very quickly, and you still have to change your model shoes to slippers so as not to disturb the torn corns that are torn to the blood.
  • Going on a hike or a long walk, you need to wear shoes specially designed for such a pastime. Look for socks that you wear in sports shoes, rough seams or elementary holes, because dropsy on the leg may appear for this reason.

  • To save hands from corns, you should not, having seized a spring to a shovel, ignore gloves.
  • By the way, it’s much easier to rub wet skin, so use talcum powder and periodically soak your hands with a dry cloth. It helps in such cases and vegetable oil, applied to damaged areas.

Well, of course, do not forget to carry a bactericidal patch with you, which will help not to bring your scuff to the size of a blister.

Be healthy!
