How to draw cat eyes with a pencil?

Many people like cats, and especially their beautiful eyes. Some girls even do makeup called cat-eye. But to draw a cat’s eyes with a pencil, it will take a little patience and practice.

Where to begin

For work, you will need any pencil or pastel, if you prefer to draw with it. You will also need a piece of paper. Any paper that is convenient for you to draw is suitable.

Still need a tool for shading. Instead, you can use a cotton swab. However, it is undesirable to use your own finger for this purpose.

In addition, it is worth noting that when drawing, you do not need to press on the pencil so that the lines are thin and can be easily erased. So, how to draw cat eyes with a pencil in stages? The guide is presented below.

Eye sketch

The first step in drawing a cat's eye is to create a sketch. Therefore, to begin with, depict the oval at a slight angle. But you don’t have to draw an oval, you can draw a circle or a triangle. The choice of shape depends on what shape you want to give the eye.

The next three steps include drawing a pupil, large or small, adding a highlight, which is a reflection of the light source, and at the end an image of the tear duct.

After that, you can clarify the contour of the eye and paint over the pupil. Remember, if you are going to wipe any parts, then draw lines with only a slight pressure on the pencil. If you are sure that you will not make any changes, you can make clear black lines.

Adding Shadows

Next, to draw cat's eyes, you need to add shadows. To begin with, you should obscure the iris of the eye. Start to lightly paint over the inside of the eye, leaving a small, unshaded gap around the pupil. This will add some volume. Then rub the pencil on the paper with a cotton swab or other shading tool. And do not forget to leave the highlight completely white.

Further you can add some more shading along the edges of the iris, but try not to paint over the lower part of the eye very much. It is better to leave it lighter than the rest.

Also add some light shadows on the outside.

Wool drawing

After you have drawn the cat's eye, you need to add a little wool. To do this, draw a lot of short lines running from the eye in different directions, but tightly adjacent to each other. If you have difficulty drawing wool, you can simply add shadows around the eyes.

At the end, add a highlight to the lacrimal canal, do a little more shading around this area.
