Lafitte manages to save her great-granddaughter, but he kills Martin and hides.

For a long time after the incident, Benny and Dean did not communicate. However, when Sam and the soul of the deceased Winchester mentor Bobby are stuck in Purgatory, Dean asks Benny for help. He lets himself be killed and, finding himself in Purgatory, helps the younger Winchester and Bobby escape. The vampire himself remains there, since he does not see the point in his return to the world of people.
