Gurgen Dabagyan: biography of the genus
He was born in 1988, on March 10, in the capital of the Republic of Armenia in a musical family. From infancy, he grew up to the sounds of ancient Armenian songs. His family had rich musical traditions. All members of the ancient family possessed excellent vocal abilities. Their roots were from Western Armenia, the city of Bayazet. During the years of the Armenian Genocide, they had to flee east and settle on the shores of Lake Sevan. Gurgen's father, Levon, is also a singer, but Gevorg Dabagyan, the uncle of the young singer, is especially popular in the republic. He is a professor at the Yerevan Conservatory and a duduk master. Thanks to his virtuoso performance, he has repeatedly become the laureate and winner of various music competitions.
Creative way
Gurgen Dabagyan began to sing when he was six years old. When he first saw the film "Sayat-Nova", he began to independently reproduce the melodies that sound in the film, then, having learned the words of songs with the help of his grandmother, he began to masterfully perform them. In one of the episodes of the film, the ashug Sayat-Nova, singing the song "Tamam ashkhar" (by the way, it is also performed by the notorious singer Eva Rivas), won the title of best singer and songwriter of the country at the Ashug competition Fatulla. This moment really impressed the boy and he, inspired by the victory of Sayat-Nova, decided to seriously engage in music. At first, the little singer sang exclusively the songs of this famous Armenian composer, singer and poet. He had a dream - to visit the grave of his beloved composer in Tbilisi, and in 1999 he managed to realize it. The first audio recording of Gurgen was made in 1995, when he was 7 years old. At the age of eight, the boy already had the first laser disc.

Competitions and concerts
In 1996, eight-year-old Gurgen Dabagyan participated in the Gohar Gasparyan competition , where he was awarded a gold medal. In the same year, he won first place at the competition dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Independence of Armenia. In 2000, with a 12-year-old teenager, he gave a solo concert in front of the US Armenian Diaspora. It was a real triumph for the young artist, his finest hour. The songs of Gurgen Dabagyan aroused nostalgia in the emigrants, as well as touched and amazed with high performing skills. During his solo concert in New York, he received a golden crown as a gift, and since then they began to call him “The Little Prince of the Armenian Song”. This was even written in the magazine The New York Times. Later, he began a tour of the countries of Europe (Germany, England, etc.), America and Asia. At the end of 2003, at the contest "Road to the Future", organized by the Pan-Armenian Fund "Armenia", he was recognized as the best singer and keeper of the folk traditions of Armenia.

Resumption of activity
At some point, due to age-related changes, Gurgen Dabagyan was forced to take a break in his creative career. In 2007, he again appeared to the viewer, already matured and with a more powerful voice. In honor of his return, a concert was organized in the hall to them. Aram Khachaturian. A year later, he already spoke to members of the Armenian diaspora in St. Petersburg. In the same year he again visited Los Angeles and gave 2 concerts. Then there were performances in Ukraine and in large cities of Russia.
Study and hobbies
Gurgen Dabagyan is also fond of literature, loves to travel and explore both historical and natural attractions. He especially likes to be in the mountains. In 2009, he managed to climb to the top of the biblical Mount Ararat - a symbol of Armenia, which, unfortunately, is located on the territory of modern Turkey. Here, at an altitude of 5056 meters with an Armenian tricolor in his hands, he sang Armenian patriotic songs.
