Crumble with apples: a step-by-step recipe for cooking

Crumble pie is a dessert made from crumbs of shortcrust pastry. It is prepared from apples, various fruits and berries. The dish is baked pretty quickly. The total cooking time will take no more than an hour, 20 minutes of which you will spend on preparing the ingredients. By the time you arrive, you will have time to bake this simple and delicious cake. What you need:

  • about 7-8 pcs. apples (medium size, sour variety);
  • an incomplete pack of butter (about 120 g);
  • about 100-120 g of sugar;
  • about 2 cups (a little less or more) of flour;
  • ground cinnamon and / or cloves;
  • salt;
  • as an addition - vanilla ice cream, custard or fat cream.

You need to start with apples. Wash the fruits and cut them into halves. Remove the core and bones. Cut the apples into medium slices and place them evenly in a heat-resistant dish. The shape of the apples does not matter, they will not be visible in the finished pie. Sprinkle fruit on top with a spoonful of cinnamon and sugar. You can use ground cloves (this is a traditional seasoning in England).

Cover the mold with a sheet of foil, place it in a preheated oven (temperature about 180 degrees). Set the time - 20 minutes. After half the baking time has passed, remove the pan and mix the apples. Cover again with foil and place back in the oven. Enough 20-25 minutes (maybe a little more if you took a larger amount of fruit) for the apples to become semi-soft. There is a special culinary variety of this fruit called Bramley. It perfectly makes fillings for any baking. If you use softer varieties of apples in the recipe , then it will take less time to cook them.

While the fruit is in the oven, do not waste time and take care of the sand crumbs. To prepare it, put sugar in softened (melted) butter. Fans of sugary taste can add more than indicated in the recipe. Then salt (a pinch is enough) and pour the indicated amount of flour. Knead everything with your hands until smooth. 2 minutes are enough for all the ingredients to turn into uniform sand crumbs.

After the apples in the oven have reached the desired condition, remove the mold and free it from the foil. Stir the fruit again. Put the prepared shortcrust on apples on top, carefully level and, without covering with foil, place the heat-resistant dish back into the oven. Estimated time is 25 minutes. Reduce the temperature a little - up to 170 degrees. The apple crumble will be ready when the sand crumbs are beautifully browned on top, and apple filling syrup will appear at the edges of the form.
