Emil Blonsky, known by the name Abomination, is a fictional supervillain who appears in the Marvel comics. It was coined by Gil Kane and Stan Lee. First appears in a comic strip entitled “Amazing Stories” in 1967. This is one of the most famous enemies of the Hulk.
Fictional biography
Emil Blonsky worked for the KGB in socialist Yugoslavia. He received superpowers after he was irradiated with gamma rays. In the same way, Bruce Benner turned into the Hulk.
Since then, Emil Blonsky began to regularly turn into a green giant with incredible physical strength, which even exceeded the power of his main opponent. When he was able to control himself after the transformation, he could not return back to the human body. Given his origin, he blamed Benner and his alter ego on the Hulk.
Abomination (Emil Blonsky) began to regularly encounter his opponent in numerous battles. However, in most cases, success was on the side of the Hulk, the villain managed to win only a couple of times.
Confrontation with the Hulk
Over time, the disgusting appearance of Emil Blonsky provoked a breakup with his wife Nadia. Due to the constant defeats from the Hulk, he almost lost his head, becoming insane in his hatred of Benner. He was especially angry when he found out that Bruce had married the daughter of General Ross Betty.
After losing his own wife, he considered it fair to take Betty from Benner. He even caused her imaginary death. While the woman was recovering from radiation sickness, becoming a victim of radiation, Blonsky adjusted everything so that Benner himself and his colleagues believed that she had suffered because of her constant proximity to the Hulk. Having guessed everything, Benner defeated the Abomination in battle, and then forgave him. For Blonsky, it was even worse than defeat.
In the end, he realizes that he has turned into the one he himself hated the most. This is a cruel and uncontrollable monster. A month later, General Ross, controlling the Hulk, provoked his attack on the Abomination. Blonsky was nearly killed in that battle. As a result, the armed forces took him into custody.
The punishment for the villain was watching a movie about life with his wife before he turned into a monster. This made his imprisonment a constant reminder of what he had lost.
After some time, the Abomination ran into the Red Hulk. In the battle he was brutally murdered. It later turned out that the Red Hulk was General Ross, exposed to radiation.
Super abilities
Abomination has incredible power. Like the Hulk, it can jump long distances due to the developed muscles of the legs.
He is able to recover from all kinds of forms of damage, however, unlike the Hulk, regeneration is much slower.
At the same time, Abomination is resistant to temperature extremes, and is able to hold its breath for a long time. Due to too high temperature or prolonged lack of air, it can fall into a state similar to a coma.
In the cinematic universe
In the Marvel Universe, the Abomination appears in Louis Letrier's fantastic action movie The Incredible Hulk. Emil Blonsky acts as the main antagonist.
In the film, General Ross hires him to hunt for the escaped Benner. Performing this mission, he finds out that the Hulk and Benner are one and the same person.
During the second mission, he receives a dose of special serum, which gives him additional dexterity, strength and endurance. Having lured the Hulk into a trap, he goes one on one with him to battle. Losing, breaks all the bones. Serum helps him heal in just a day. He tracks down Benner, who is just setting up an experiment with Samuel Stearns. When the Hulk is hiding, Blonsky has a sample of his gamma blood, which he introduces himself, turning into a monster Abomination.
He begins to destroy the city; none of the military is able to stop it. Benner invites the general to send him to the Abomination, because only he in the image of the Hulk is able to win. At some point in the battle, the advantage is on Blonsky's side, but Benner is furious when the enemy attacks Betty. He defeats Blonsky, sends him to prison.
