The Leningrad School of Painting is a group of artists who lived in Leningrad in the 30-50s of the last century. They continued and developed the classical rules of painting in St. Petersburg at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. The pupil of this direction and his brightest representative is Elena Konstantinovna Gorokhova.
The path of the artist
A native of the city on the Neva, Elena Gorokhova was born on February 19, 1933. After graduating from the school of fine arts in 1951, she became a student at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin, department of painting. Her mentors were talented artists and teachers V. A. Gorb, S. L. Abugov.
In 1957, she graduated from the course in the workshop of Professor Joseph Serebryany and became an artist-painter. A participant in many vernissages, she exhibited her works along with the works of the best masters of Leningrad. The artist painted in oil, tempera, gouache and watercolor. In 1960, she joined the Union of Artists of the RSFSR, in his Leningrad group. The motives and characters of many paintings are taken from Russian legends, legends and folk epics. This is the name of the painting by Elena Gorokhova, made by tempera. The picture was painted in warm soft colors with a predominance of blue and blue, but the red and pink colors of the clothes of faithful warriors cause an alarming feeling. The first works of Elena Gorokhova were shown in 1957 at the exhibition in honor of the 40th anniversary of the October Revolution. Vernissage "The Connection of Times" in 1997 in St. Petersburg was the final in her work. Elena Konstantinovna Gorokhova died in the hospital ward on January 15, 2014.
