Lenten Cabbage Pie

And do not think that lean dishes are tasteless - they are as tasty and enjoyable as dishes prepared according to the most common recipes. Let's make a lean pie with cabbage and see for yourself. You can make open cabbage pie or layered cabbage pie. Now we are going to make a filling pie. To do this, you must:

  2. One tablespoon of dry yeast.
  3. A small head of cabbage (half is enough).
  4. Five heads of onions.
  5. One and a half glasses of water.
  6. Three tablespoons of tomato sauce or pasta.
  7. Fifty grams of vegetable oil.
  8. Salt.
  9. Sugar.
  10. Nutmeg.
  11. Oregano.

Now we proceed directly to cooking. In order to make a lean pie with cabbage, you need to knead the dough. At the very beginning, dry yeast should be poured with warm water and left for ten minutes. After ten minutes have passed, pour the soaked yeast into the flour. Salt, knead the dough and add a little vegetable oil to it. It is necessary that it turns out not soft, but soft dough. If necessary, you can add more flour. Knead thoroughly, put the dough in a deep bowl, cover with a towel and place for an hour or a half in a warm place. While the dough is infused, you can prepare the filling for the cake.

Peel the onion, chop it in half rings and send to fry over low heat. When the onions turn golden, add a little sugar to the pan. You should get a lean pie with cabbage, so do not forget about cabbage. Chop it finely and add to the onion. After the cabbage and onions are slightly fried, add salt, pepper, oregano and nutmeg. After about ten minutes, add the tomato paste. Cover the pan, let it simmer over low heat until cooked. Remove the cabbage from the heat and set to cool.

We return to the test. Cut it into two parts. First - roll out and place in a baking sheet. It is important that the edges extend beyond the pan. Put the filling and bend the edges, covering it (the filling should not leak out). Now roll out the second part of the dough and cover your pie on top. Bake in the oven for fifty minutes. Maintain a temperature of 180 degrees.

  12. Half a cabbage.
  13. Canned corn or peas.
  14. Green onion feathers.
  15. Fresh parsley.
  16. Fresh dill.
