The popular film "Avengers", shot on the comic book of the same name, raised at the box office one and a half billion dollars and received a franchise for three more films. Many say that half of the success of the project is its cast. Famous and beloved by the audience, the leading performers aroused interest, both among young people and among people of a more mature age. One of the most striking characters can be considered Natasha Romanoff.
Who played in the Avengers?
Not every film can boast of eminent cast members, well-known directors and screenwriters. The Avengers movie was lucky with that. Among the leading actors are some of the highest paid actors in Hollywood: Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth. But not only their fees cause a slight shock.
Each of these actors has loyal fans who were happy to see them in new guises, but Avengers, like other superhero films, lacks one thing - female participation. In the main composition of this action there is only one representative of the fair sex - Natasha Romanoff. Actress Scarlett Johansson, who played the role of the Black Widow, believes that her character was not given enough screen time. After this statement, fans even started collecting signatures for a petition in which they asked for a separate film for Natasha Romanoff and the actress who performed it. Indeed, there is always something to tell and show about such a strong spy woman.
Secondary roles in the film are also not replete with female characters, but this, of course, does not make Avengers a bad movie.
The plot of "Avengers"
The film tells the story of the invasion of Loki, Thor's half-brother, on planet Earth. Enlisting the support of the hostile Chitauri race and the magic staff, the demigod plans to enslave all people, then rule them honestly and fairly, building a new world.
For his insidious goals, he steals the Tesseract energy cube from the Shch.I. T. base and Professor Eric Selvig, who is studying the artifact. Loki forces him to continue researching the cube in order to discover all his strength and power.
Loki’s plans almost succeed, but at the very last moment, due to the intervention of the international organization Sch.I. T. and a special squad called The Avengers, he and his minions fail. Heroes not only save the planet, but also imprison Loki, then sending them to their home world.
In the second part of the franchise ("Avengers: Age of Ultron"), the team of heroes have to face a new threat - artificial intelligence called Ultron. Although it was created to protect people from any dangers, it itself becomes one of them.
Ultron is sure that people must be destroyed. In addition, he has the strength to carry out his plan. Therefore, the fate of all mankind depends on whether the Avengers can find a way to pacify artificial intelligence.
Natasha Romanoff - Black Widow
Very little is known about the character’s past. She masterfully owns the art of espionage and various martial arts. Previously, she was associated with the KGB and carried out their orders, but then moved to serve in the international organization "Sch.I. T."
Romanoff was a student of the Winter Soldier and underwent a series of biotechnological procedures that affected her abilities. Now she is aging more slowly, has improved physical characteristics and has an artificially improved immune system, which helps her to be a kind of "super-soldier."
In her youth, Natasha studied and participated in the Soviet government program called the Black Widow. The task of this organization was to train elite female agents, who then infiltrated enemy organizations. The legend of Natasha at the time of training was a ballet school.
Scarlett Johansson: Life and Cinema
The actress was born in New York on November 22, 1984. Her father is a Dane, and her mother was born in Minsk, although her parents are American Jews. Scarlett's paternal grandmother was a screenwriter and writer.
Johansson is not the only child in the family: she has an older sister and two brothers. In addition to filming in films and TV shows, Scarlett can be seen in many video clips of famous artists. One of her commercials, “What Goes Around / Comes Around,” was nominated for the MTV Music Awards.
Johansson earned six million dollars in the first Avengers movie, almost 3.5 times more in the second — 20 million.
To be continued
The second film in the Avengers franchise was not the last. In 2018-2019, it is planned to release two more parts. The third film will be called Avengers: The Infinity War, and the final part has not yet been titled.
If we talk about the characters of the films, we can say with confidence that Natasha Romanoff will definitely be among them. So far, only the character of Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, has not been announced to participate in the final franchise film .
Also, the following parts promise the appearance of new heroes and crossovers with other characters in the Marvel universe.
