Maxim Kalsin is an interesting person whose biography deserves to be staged on it. He was born in a small town where there was no theater at all. Up to 30 years old Maxim was very new to this type of art. By that time, he had visited theaters only a few times. First, he graduated from the History Department of Moscow State University. But he did not defend his dissertation, because he realized that he did not want to lead the life of a historian — to sit in libraries, take part in conferences and so on. Then Maxim decided to change his life and went into business. He owned a chain of bookstores. But at the age of 30, he realized that he was not engaged in his own business, left everything and entered the VGIK in the directing department. He came to the Pushkin Theater (Magnitogorsk) in 2010. Now he is happy that he can create, feels in his place and understands that he is doing his job.
