- Trauma to the eyelid is often accompanied by damage to the conjunctiva. How does this happen? Any foreign objects fall onto the mucous membrane of the cat's eye. Irritation occurs. The danger lies in the fact that a foreign body can affect the cornea and sclera of the eye, and this is a direct path for the penetration of a purulent infection.
- Sometimes this is a consequence of a feline disease called blepharitis, which can be triggered by chemical, traumatic and thermal effects on the eyelids. As a result of this, microbes, pathogenic fungi and viruses penetrate. This, as we understand, does not lead to anything good.
- Another reason why kittens have festering eyes is corneal inflammation. This is a common disease, accompanied by the release of pus.

The answer is simple: heal! But not on their own, but with the help of a cat doctor, in other words, a veterinarian. Please do not let it drift. Remember: although a cat has several lives, in this case, nothing will be cured by itself, because the disease is purulent! Then the veterinarian will flush the eye with a solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate) and be sure to drip drops containing antibiotics. What to do if your furry creature gets blepharitis? Do not worry! Everything is simpler here. In addition, the animal will need a balanced diet, as often the cause of blepharitis is cat vitamin deficiency. If the eye is stuck together with a pus crust, liquid paraffin is used. This will soften the discharge. Remove them with a swab previously moistened in a solution of hydrogen peroxide (3%).
