The year 2002 for fans of the "Aria" group can be characterized by a line from the famous song: "And the world cracked in half, boiling a rift." What seemed unbreakable and cult was crumbling right before our eyes. And few believed that something worthwhile could be built on the ruins of a legendary group. How? What for? And will anything come out of this at all? Happened. Maybe not the way it was. Quite different. Worse or better - everyone decides for himself.
Start
Kipelov, a group whose history begins in September 2002, when the former members of Aria, Sergey Terentyev (guitar), Valery Kipelov (vocals) and Alexander Manyakin (drums), made a fateful decision to continue their creative activity and create a new group together. In order not to waste time promoting the band, it was decided to name the group by the name of the vocalist: recognizable, epic and suggestive of a musical style. Evil tongues talked about the megalomania of the vocalist, which manifested itself in all its glory.
Be that as it may, the name has taken root. But the situation was complicated by the lack of a bass guitar and another guitar. The group invited the former member of "Aria" Sergei Mavrin (guitar) and Alexei Kharkov (bass). In this composition, the rock band Kipelov has begun to conquer the audience since mid-October with the program "Way Up". The repertoire included some of the old songs “Arias” and the album “Time of Troubles”. A hit recognizable from the first notes becomes "I am free." The song is gaining wild popularity, it is even called a kind of anthem of the group.
New program and new roster
The rock group confidently keeps afloat and in early October 2003 began a concert activity with the Babylon program, which they immediately began to compare with the Coliseum of the new Aria. Despite criticism and skepticism, the self-titled single "Babylon" is on the top of the charts of "Our Radio", and the group collects a full house at a concert in "Luzhniki". Fans believed that the black streak was left behind ... But in mid-October, Sergei Terentyev leaves. An urgent need to seek a replacement, and in his place invited guitarist from the "Legion" Andrei Golovanov. The choice was successful, the musicians played, and the tour begins with a new program.
In February 2004, the band released its first studio work - the Babylon mini-album, which includes three songs: I Am Free, Babylon, The Time of Troubles. In September of the same year, the video for the title track was filmed with Edgard Zapashny and Lion Michael.
Debut album and group activities
In early November, after the end of the tour, Sergey Mavrin leaves the rock band, and Viktor Smolsky , the guitarist of the Rage band, is temporarily invited to the place of the guitarist. And “Kipelov” starts work on the debut album “Rivers of Times”.
A joyful event for fans and musicians is getting the title of "Best Rock Band of the Year."
After the completion of the studio work, the musicians go on a tour with a new concert program, perform at rock festivals, record the soundtrack “Talisman” for “Running on the Waves”. In September, the first album was released and a tour starts in his support.
The year 2006 begins for the musical group successfully - finally found a permanent guitarist Vyacheslav Molchanov, and since May the group has been performing in an updated composition. So, the participants of the constant composition, unchanged to this day: Valery Kipelov - the vocalist and face of the group, behind the drum set - Alexander Manyakin, Vyacheslav Molchanov and Andrey Golovanov - guitarists, bass player Alexei Kharkov.
In the beginning of autumn 2006 the concert tour “In the fifth circle”, dedicated to the anniversary of the group, starts. It collects full houses in all cities where the collective comes with concerts.
In mid-October 2007, the album “Rivers of Times” was re-released. In general, the fall of 2007 was generous with awards: in October Valery Kipelov was recognized as the “Father of Rock” on RAMP, and the group was nominated for “Clip of the Year” and “Hit of the Year”. In November, the team received a special award as a group that performed with the best live concert.
Second album
The rock band's concert activity stops, the musicians begin work on a completely new program. In February 2009, the mini-album “On the Edge” was released. In December, a big concert is being held at the Olimpiyskiy, where the group presents fans with new, not yet recorded songs. However, the release of the album itself is delayed - it will be released only in February 2011 and will cause an mixed reaction from the public. The sound of the group has changed a little, and not everyone liked it. After the release of “Live Despite” the creative team goes on a tour.
Work on a new program
In the spring of 2012, work began on the new single, “Reflection”. On October 11, 2012, the “X Years” tour will begin. In Moscow, with the participation of Sergei Mavrin and Sergei Terentyev , a grandiose performance takes place on December 1.
