About the creators

Film critics, having watched the film "Visions", posted various reviews, but in every second they doubted the sufficient professional experience of the director of the film.

The horror was directed by an experienced editor Kevin Grotert, who recently re-qualified as a director with the light hand of D. Wang and L. Wonnel (curators of the Saw franchise). The producers not only entrusted Grotert with the shooting of the two final parts of the terrible epic, but also gave the green light to the production of the horror film Jezabel, which pleased the fans of the genre with the rich atmosphere of Louisiana witchcraft.

“Visions” Kevin shot immediately after the premiere, but the path to the big screen for the project turned out to be rather thorny. Initially, the premiere was announced for 2014, but after watching the test audience the film "Visions" received depressing reviews. Then the producers decided to hold it until better times.

The opinion of professionals

In 2015, the picture nevertheless reached the box office, and after the premiere, the concerns of the producers, including the informal “king of the modern horror” Jason Bloom, were not in vain. Film critics dubbed the project a lazy and uncomplicated mystical film, built on a single final twist, which, by the way, is not so unpredictable. In addition to him, in the movie "Visions" there are a lot of trivial moments in which, according to experts, originality and author's imagination are replaced by the volume of orchestral beats, which has been wound to the maximum.

Casting cast

Even more surprising for film critics seemed the cast of the film. The leading actor Isla Fisher is definitely an gifted actress, but she is harmonious in a comic or romantic image. Therefore, the viewer experiences her heroine in a mystical horror is difficult to take seriously.

Not a very good solution was an invitation to the cooperation of actress Gillian Jacobs, a trail of the image from the comedy series "Community" also stretches for her.

And Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewives and Jim Parsons from The Big Bang Theory got very small roles that did not allow the performers to demonstrate their skills to the full.

It turns out that all the main components of the Vision horror were criticized: the actors, the narrative structure and the visualization of Kevin Grottert. Recently, more and more uninspired, weak films in the horror genre are becoming more and more, which is not the best trend.
