Eternal Call: actors of the best Soviet epic

The cult Soviet television series Eternal Call (actors: P. Velyaminov, A. Rogovtseva, V. Spiridonov) tells about the life of the most ordinary Soviet family - the four Savelyevs. The events described in the film affect the period from 1906 to 1961. That is, the film tells the story of the fate of as many as three generations of the Saveliev family who have been to three “wars”. It:

  • Revolution and Civil War.
  • The Great Patriotic War.
  • The restoration of the destroyed economy.

The painting “Eternal Call” (the actors spoke of the project in the following way) is a film about love and betrayal, human selflessness and cowardice, meanness and devotion, duplicity and fidelity. The film became a truly epic work, although it was shot on the basis of the novel of the then-famous writer and publicist Anatoly Ivanov.

Structure

The epic consists of two parts, the first of which has twelve episodes and begins with the fact that Demyan Imyutin and Pankrat Nazarov return to Mikhailovka from the Russo-Japanese war. Soon Demyan became the manager of the local rich Kaftanov. The first part of the epic ends with the fact that news of the beginning of the war comes to the village. The second part of the epic begins with a description of the military events of the winter of 1942, as well as a story about the fate of the Savelyev brothers at the front. In total, she has seven episodes.

Filmmakers

A whole team of specialists worked on the picture, and the fact that it came out truly amazing, their full merit. The directors of the film project were Vladimir Krasnopolsky and Uskov Valery. Screenwriters of the series - Isaev Konstantin and Ivanov Anatoly. Director of photography - Vladimir Minaev and Peter Emelyanov. Artists - Nikolai Markin and Vladimir Kirs. It is worth noting that the creators of the series were awarded the USSR State Prize, and it was issued precisely for this work.

Brilliant game of actors

Fedor Savelyev was played by Vadim Spiridonov. Despite the fact that according to the plot of the epic, Fedor becomes a policeman, in fact, a traitor to the Motherland, he does not lose his human and high moral qualities - he is honest, fair, he is tormented by remorse. But at the same time, while fleeing with Lakhnovsky (a former investigator of the tsarist police, now Oberst lieutenant of the Abwehr), he does not throw his vis-a-vis, who twisted his leg, to the mercy of fate, and helps him get to a safe place. The opposite of Fyodor can be called Lakhnovsky himself: he literally pours promises of all the best for Fyodor, if only he would save his worthless little soul. It is worth noting the fact that Fedor did not go to the front out of his personal convictions, but he tried to escape from the confusion in his personal life. Vadim Spiridonov most brilliantly showed Fedor Saveliev, a simple young peasant with his weaknesses and virtues.

The role of Ivan Savelyev was played by N. Ivanov. Ivan Savelyev became the most truly Russian person - open, brave, selfless. Able to transgress through himself for the sake of the Motherland, during the war, Ivan at the front was looking for a meeting with Fedor in order to look him in the eye, in the eyes of the traitor of the Motherland, the traitor of the family. Ivan, despite kinship with Fedor, kills him. Nikolai Ivanov most accurately played the role of Ivan Savelyev.

The role of Anna Kaftanova went to A. Rogovtseva. Anna was the daughter of the rich Kaftanov, Ivan was in love with her, but Fedor, who later became her husband, only wanted to make friends with the rich Kaftanov. Ada Rogovtseva rather accurately and accurately portrayed the daughter of a rich man, and later - the faithful wife of a not entirely faithful husband.

TV Ratings

According to contemporaries, the epic came out brilliant. The film "Eternal Call" (the actors who performed the main roles were far from politics) did not look like a "propaganda" one. The directors showed the shortcomings of early Soviet power, all the minuses of the reign of the king and the White Guard. However, along with the shortcomings of the “red” power, the filmmakers showed the advantages that the power of the Soviets brought to people. In the epic movie, human relationships are most capaciously shown. Human vices are also reflected: envy, duplicity, meanness. The fate of a small village is shown, in which quite huge "passions" are played out.

Conclusion

The film "Eternal Call" (the actors, their characters, the entire crew were very popular in the USSR) turned out to be unique. The film, despite the fact that it was shot in the second half of the twentieth century, is of certain interest for the current young generation. The main success factors of the epic are the realistic plot, the ingenious play of the actors and the dramatic nature of the events. It is impossible not to note the novel, according to which the epic was shot, because he was genius in his own way.

To summarize the foregoing, we can confidently say that “Eternal Call” is the greatest work of Soviet filmmakers, deserving attention at all times.
