One of the most important functions of the human body is to ensure cellular and humoral immunity. Protection against harmful substances is normally carried out continuously. This is due to the continuous operation of the immune system, which is capable of producing special cells - antibodies. They appear as soon as antigens are detected, they can be: viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites, foreign bodies. When the body is weakened, immunity does not work at full strength, so it is necessary to stimulate it. To this end, pharmacologists have developed artificial protection, that is, its analogue. "Imudon" is a drug that promotes the production of antibodies. In addition to this remedy, there are other medications that affect the protective properties of the body.
How can I replace the drug "Imudon"?
If it is impossible or unwilling to purchase a medication, you can choose its analogue. "Imudon" can be replaced with the drug "Transfer factor", which has the same indications for use, but has fewer side effects. These pills are more expensive, but one package is equivalent to the full course of treatment with Imudon. If the patient cannot afford it, then a more affordable remedy should be advised. A cheap analogue of Imudon is the medicine IRS-19. This drug has the same effect, as it also contains bacterial lysates. Most often it is used in addition to antibiotics and antiviral agents. Its advantage is that it is more accessible and widespread.
Medication and its analogue: "Imudon" and "IRS-19"
In order for the body's natural immunity to work in full force, it must be stimulated. The preparations "Imudon" and "IRS-19" are created according to the principle of action of antigens. They contain the most common types of bacteria and fungi that cause inflammatory processes in the body. These pathogens are contained in preparations in the form of lysates, that is, their particles, which are dissolved by enzymes. This composition allows not only to cause an immune response, but also not to infect the body with bacteria. Among the microbial particles of the drug, it is possible to distinguish: Staphylococcus aureus, Candida fungi, lactobacilli, enterococci, Friedlander’s stick, Plauta, etc. In addition to the main components, medicines contain: lactose, citric acid, glycine, mannitol and other auxiliary substances.
The drug "Imudon": application
The areas of use of the drug are dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Most often it is used in inflammatory processes of the oral cavity, which can be localized on the inner surface of the lips, gums, palate, mucous membrane. Indications for use are diseases such as stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontitis, dysbiosis, pericornitis, tonsillitis, glossitis, pharyngitis. All these problems are caused by a decrease in the protective properties of the body, so the use of immunomodulators is necessary for its stimulation. In addition, the drug is used as a preoperative preparation for the removal of tonsils, as well as in the recovery period. The drug "Imudon" has an analgesic effect in the oral cavity, and also helps to get rid of bad smell.
Contraindications to the use of the drug and its analogues
Despite the high activity in relation to immune function, medications should be used with great caution to people who have significantly reduced protection. This group includes pregnant women and children under three years of age. An absolute contraindication to the use of the drug "Imudon" and its analogues is an allergic reaction to one or more of its components. The reaction may manifest as a rash, edema, or urticaria. Among the side effects, there are disorders of the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, impaired stool and abdominal pain. The drug "Imudon" and its analogues can be used when taking other drugs, since interaction with them does not cause side effects.
Pediatric Use
The use of "Imudon" and "IRS-19" preparations for children differs from its use for adults only in dosage. Persons from 3 to 14 years of age are prescribed 6 tablets per day, which are intended for resorption. Indications are the same as in adults. For children under 3 years of age, the use of the drug and its analogues is not recommended due to the fact that the
immune system is not fully formed, therefore, the introduction of antigens is undesirable. We should not forget that medicines are a kind of “vaccination” against pathogens, so they can be used as a prophylaxis of chronic inflammatory processes in the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract.
For any infectious process, you must consult a doctor who will prescribe not only an immunomodulating agent, but also help eliminate the cause of the disease (bacterial, viral, fungal etiology).
