But it is important to know exactly the cause of the heart palpitations. In the event that this is not a stressful situation, the above drug will not have the proper effect. If the source of discomfort is just overstrain, then Corvalol is indicated, the use of which will relieve unpleasant sensations. Consider this medication in more detail.
The specified medication contains tincture of hops, hawthorn and rhubarb, valerian extract, peppermint oil, sodium barbital, ethyl alcohol and distilled water. It is used for stress, extreme irritability, hypertension and spasms of the coronary system.
Corvalol, the use of which is indicated in the above situations, belongs to the group of drugs with antispasmodic and sedative effects. It is a combined tool, the effect of which is achieved due to its components. So, ethyl ether promotes relaxation and the early onset of sleep, phenobarbital increases the sedative effect of other components, and peppermint oil has an antispasmodic, vasodilating (vasodilating) and reflex effect. It is indicated for the following ailments:
- increase in blood pressure;

Corvalol, the use of which helps adults, can also be used to treat children. They are prescribed to them in an amount of three to fifteen drops daily, depending on the clinical picture of the disease and the age of the small patient.

If there is a need to use Corvalol when breastfeeding, it is recommended to suspend feeding for this period. Women awaiting the appearance of a child should take this drug only with permission and under the supervision of a physician.
Patients taking Corvalol, side effects noted the following: dizziness, drowsiness, decreased ability to concentrate, allergic reactions.
With prolonged use of this medication, the appearance of depression, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, apathy, impaired coordination of movements and hemorrhagic diathesis may occur - as a result of chronic bromine poisoning. Also, the appearance of dependence on this pharmaceutical agent is not excluded.
