"Midokalm" - a medicine that is a muscle relaxant of central action. It is in the form of tablets coated with a white film coating. Their shape is round, biconvex, the smell is weak specific. On one side there is an engraving β€œ50” or β€œ150” (depending on the weight of the tablet). In addition, Midokalm solution is on sale (the medicine is colorless or slightly greenish, there are no mechanical inclusions).

The active substance is tolperisone. Additional components (in tablets) are citric acid monohydrate, anhydrous colloidal silicone, corn starch, stearin, titanium dioxide, talc, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose 2910 and macrogol 6000.

The medication is distributed in blisters of ten pieces (there are three in one cardboard pack).

The main components of the injection solution are lidocaine and tolperisone, the auxiliary components are methyl paraben, diethylene glycol monoethylether and purified water.

The medication is administered orally after a meal. You do not need to chew it; you can drink it with a small amount of liquid. The initial dose for adult patients is fifty milligrams two to three times a day. Babies from one to six years old - five mg per kilogram (3 times a day), from seven to fourteen - from two to four mg / kg (the frequency of administration is similar). If the patient is not able to swallow the tablet, it can be grinded and take the resulting powder with boiled water.

A medication in this form is administered intravenously (slowly) or intramuscularly. In the first case - one hundred milligrams once a day, in the second - a similar amount twice a day.
