Mikuru Asahina is a character from the anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya." It occupies the fourth position in the school circle of the SOS team and is the only one who joined it not of their own free will.

Mikuru Asahina is a guest from the future and a lover of traveling in temporary worlds. Currently, she was called up to observe one of the main characters, Haruhi Suzumiya.
Mikuru studied a year older than her subject of surveillance. The latter, in turn, noting that Asahina has a bright attractive appearance and attracts a large amount of attention from the opposite sex, quickly realized and lured her into the role of a talisman for her circle.

Personality
Asahina gives the impression of a not very intelligent and intelligent agent. Compared to other characters, it shows traits of naivety and resemblance to a child.

Sometimes she pretends to be a victim of sexual harassment, after which Haruhi is engaged in blackmailing the perpetrators using photographs.
In normal times, Mikuru Asahina from the anime performs the work of a maid, whose duties include brewing and serving tea. She likes this occupation.
Often, Mikur has to move the hero of Ken in time to solve certain tasks, for example, saving himself from death (fourth and seventh issues).
An interesting fact: during such operations, the older Asahina often appeared in the frame, which the younger one could not see. As a result, the latter fell into an artificial dream and woke up after the completion of all that was happening. Because of this, she often did not understand what her task was and whether she coped with the solution as a whole.
In the seventh volume of Suzumiya’s Intrigue, Mikuru appears in two versions of himself at once: the present and the future (after 2 weeks). For the sake of secrecy, the second gives itself another name - Asahina Mitiru.

Elder Asahina is her own version, but only from a more distant future, unlike the "original" one. Despite the fact that there was no loud publicity, the eldest Mikuru is considered to be the immediate boss of the younger.
The elder’s first appearance can be seen in the debut volume, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The purpose of her arrival is to prove the veracity of the version that Mikura is really a time traveler. In addition, the elder gives a warning hint to Ken so that he does not dare to closely converge with her younger version.
Capabilities
The device possessed by Asahina Mikura in the anime is responsible for the ability to move in time. In short, it is customary to call it TPDD (Time Plane Destruction Device), which means "time layer destruction device". It is able to carry not only the user, but also anyone else.
During the filming of the film, Mikura receives a beam that can shoot from her eye with an invisible high-density energy arrow. However, later this ability was decided to nip for safety with the help of a nanomachine.
Relationship
Asahina Mikuru has deep respect for the main character. The fact that the second often subjected her to dubious harassment does not affect Mikuru's opinion. Asahina learns in the eighth volume of the manga “Haruhi Resentment” that the emergence of the basic theory of time layers was made possible by Haruhi Suzumiya. This fact greatly increases her authority in the eyes of Mikuru.
Relations with the main character Ken are controversial and ambiguous, as in some episodes Mikuru shows an open position in relation to him. She asks to call by name or shares a bottle from which she already drank - an “indirect kiss”, but on the other hand, her older version advises not to get close to him with the younger one (without specifying the reason, but there is a version of Haruhi's jealousy).
Asahina rarely accepted help from Ken, as she gave herself the command to pay attention only to her task, for which she was here.
In the seventh volume, when Asahina the elder gives Ken and the younger herself instructions, and at the end appears personally, the main character realizes his dislike for the older version due to a bad attitude towards the younger one.
In order to distinguish the eldest from the youngest Mikura, the second is referred to as "Asahina-san."
