In our article I would like to talk about such a famous Soviet actor as Kurilov Sergey Ivanovich. How successful was his career? What films did the actor star in? What is known about his personal life? You will find the answer to these and other questions later in the material.
early years
Kurilov Sergey was born on October 6, 1914 in Moscow. Ivan Ivanovich - the father of our hero, earned a living as a family, working in a forge. Mother Anna Gavrilovna devoted time to raising children, whom, in addition to Sergey, there were three more.
At the end of high school, the boy decided to comprehend the profession of architect in one of the capital's technical schools. However, here the young man did not last long. Quitting the studies of the future artist made him interested in amateur performances, to which he devoted all his free time.
In 1932, our hero dropped out of college and entered the Theater School, where he learned stage skills. Sergey continued Kurilovโs further studies in a creative studio that functioned at the Moscow Art Theater. In the mid-30s, the theater closed, which forced the guy to interrupt his studies.
Theatrical activity
In 1936, Sergey Kurilov received an offer to replenish the acting troupe of the Moscow Youth Theater. During the war years, the artist was redirected to Krasnoyarsk. Here he worked on the stage of the Pushkin Theater. Sergey Kurilov returned to the capital in 1944. At first, the actor worked at the Vakhtangov Theater. Later he joined the troupe of the Theater of Satire.
Movie debut
In 1947, Kurilov joined the staff of the Moscow film actor studio. The already well-known theater artist was immediately entrusted with the main role in the historical and biographical film "Miklouho-Maclay" directed by Alexander Razumny. The picture told about the life and adventures of the outstanding Soviet anthropologist, ethnographer and discoverer of new, uncharted lands - Nikolai Nikolaevich Miklukho-Maklaya. He is known for his many expeditions to Oceania to study the culture and life of local peoples.
Thanks to successful filming in his debut film, Sergey Kurilov immediately gained all-Union fame. The role of Miklouho-Maclay subsequently became a real calling card of the artist for many years. And this is not surprising, because the actor managed to get used to the image of a courageous, intelligent and psychologically strong hero.
First color film
In 1864, Sergey Kurilov starred in his first color film - the film "Maxim". In the film, created based on the adventure stories of the writer Konstantin Stanyukovich, the actor got the role of captain of the sea corvette Nikolai Fedorovich.
The film "Maksimka" tells about the crew of the ship "Bogatyr" that meets an American ship in the Atlantic Ocean, in the holds of which are black slaves. A few days later, Russian sailors save a Negro boy. The guy, who is now called Maxim, becomes a real favorite of the team. The boy not only helps crew members find a meaning of existence, but also shows courage in the operation to rescue the captain of the ship "Bogatyr". As a result, the black youth is awarded the rank of young man of the Russian fleet.

It is worth noting that in addition to filming a movie and working on the theater stage, Sergey Kurilov was fond of fishing. Even being busy in numerous shootings, our hero never missed the slightest opportunity to go to the nearest body of water and spend several hours with a fishing rod in his hands. However, Kurilov was not only an avid fisherman. A real family tradition in his family was joint hiking in the forest for mushrooms.
Last years
In the 70s, Kurilov began to feel regular pain in his legs. Every year the disease made itself felt more and more. Sergei Ivanovich began to spend less time on set, practically did not appear on the stage. Subsequently, he had to completely refuse to work in the cinema.
In 1983, Sergey Kurilov announced the end of his career in Soviet cinema. From this moment, the artist began to devote all his free time to painting. It was drawing with a pencil and pastel that helped the actor forget about health problems, as well as survive the forced parting with the work of his whole life.
