What kind of fish are you used to seeing in salads? Surely, the first thing that comes to mind for most housewives is herring. But it turns out that amazingly delicious dishes can be prepared from other types of fish. We offer you to make smoked cod salad. Consider a phased process.
Salad with herbs
Fish is a fairly nutritious product, so it makes sense to mix it with something lighter. Prepare a smoked cod salad in which one of the few ingredients is a green juicy mass. Optionally, you can add other products, except those listed below. This will only improve the taste of the dish.
Ingredients
For salad:
- 200 g smoked fillet (without skin) cod;
- 300 g of leaves of juicy watercress;
- about 150 g of young (along with leaves) beets;
- 3 chicken fresh eggs.
For filling sauce:
- 3 tbsp. l olive or any other oil;
- 2 tsp prepared thick mustard;
- 1 tsp a mixture of peppers (hot cayenne, ground black);
- juice Β½ part lemon;
- salt (to taste).
Cooking
Remove the young leaves from the beets and put them to bake, wrapping in one layer of foil, for about half an hour. After cooking and cooling, finely chop the vegetable into cubes. Boil raw washed eggs for 8-10 minutes, then peel and chop into medium pieces. Chopped fish chop sticks. Rinse greens (including beetroot leaves) well in running water and tear into small parts with your hands. Mix everything and season with sauce. Serve immediately.
Cod Salad with Rice
This dish is quite spicy due to the use of spicy tomato dressing. Such a smoked cod salad will be very satisfying, therefore it is recommended to serve it in small portions, beautifully decorated on a plate.
Ingredients
- 150 g smoked fillet (without peel) cod;
- 2/3 cup raw rice;
- a bunch of juicy leaves of fresh salad;
- Β½ jars of canned (without juice) corn;
- 1 small onion;
- 2 tbsp. l thick (with bright red) tomato paste;
- 2 tbsp. l vegetable oil;
- ground pepper;
- a pinch of fragrant provence herbs ;
- salt.
Cooking
Chop the onion very finely and fry until golden in oil, then pass the paste for a few minutes. Boil the rice in a large (2 L) amount of water until almost complete. Rinse it in a colander under a cold stream. Combine minced fish with shredded lettuce, corn, and rice. Season with pepper, tomato dressing and salt. Put the thick mixture on the serving plates using special tins.
Freshness salad with lemon dressing
Asparagus gives a special juiciness to this dish. In addition to it, hot smoked cod salad and other fresh ingredients are included.
Ingredients
For salad:
- 300 g of young potatoes;
- 200 g of smoked cod fillet without skin;
- 150 g of fresh radish;
- 300 g of green mass (onions, lettuce, mint, parsley);
- 200 g of green asparagus.
For filling sauce:
- 3 tbsp. l freshly squeezed lemon juice and olive or other oil;
- 2 tsp prepared thick mustard;
- Β½ tsp red or allspice.
Cooking
Boil the potatoes, having previously scraped the peel into it. Finished cold root vegetables cut into cubes. Cook asparagus in slightly salted water for 1-2 minutes, then cool by rinsing quickly under cold water. After that, cut it into small sticks. Coarsely chop the green mass. Use small leaves whole. Divide the radish with a thin knife into thin plates. Mix everything together with the components of the sauce and let it brew for serving for several minutes.
Whatever you make a smoked cod salad, the presence of green mass will give the dish lightness.
