One of the classic works of American cinema is the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's." The actors of this picture are world famous. The premiere took place in the sixties. The film won two Oscars and became one of the highest grossing projects in Hollywood.
Main roles
In the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" actors Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard played people completely different. The heroine is a rather eccentric person. Her friend is a dreamer and a romantic. Holly and Paul are the heroes of Tiffany's Breakfast.
Actors
In the filming of the film, in addition to the above-mentioned Hollywood stars, took part:
- Patricia Neal
- Mickey Rooney
- Alan Reed.
- Martin Bolsam.
This film was the most unusual work of the famous Audrey Hepburn. The actress was a rather restrained person. And therefore, to play the role of an eccentric girl was extremely interesting to her. The picture in question in this article is an adaptation of T. Capote's novel “Breakfast at Tiffany's”.
Actors and roles
One of the reasons for the success of the picture is the participation of Audrey Hepburn. The actress performed more than ten vivid roles in the movie before starting work on the film. She played the role of Holly at thirty-two years. The heroine of Capote’s book at the beginning of the story was not even nineteen.
By the end of the fifties, O. Hepburn became one of the highest paid American actresses. Throughout her life, she was nominated four times for an Oscar. Including for the role of Holly in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Actors who became partners with Hepburn on the set, certainly turned into Hollywood stars. Fame brought, of course, not work with the legendary film actress. The fact is that Audrey Hepburn was shot only by prominent directors almost from the very beginning of her career. George Peppard became famous precisely after the premiere of the painting "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Actors who played secondary roles in the film were mostly well-known to American viewers in the post-war period. Mickey Rooney began his career in the thirties. The actor received the Academy Award twice. Rooney made a significant contribution to the development of cinema.
Actors such as Patricia Neal, Alan Reid, and Buddy Ebsen also played many prominent roles in the movie. However, in the filmography of each of them, the work in the film “Breakfast at Tiffany's” occupies a special place.
Plot
Holly is a weird and disorganized girl. Every evening she worries one of the neighbors, because she constantly loses her keys. As a result of her distraction, an acquaintance with Paul takes place. The eccentric and elegant girl arouses the curiosity of a young man. In order to get to know her, Paul asks permission to use her phone.
Holly is bored of living. So boring that every week she visits Sally Tomato, the former leader of the mafia group, in prison. However, she does this for free. From Sally, she sends a message to one of the members of the criminal gang, for which she receives a reward of one hundred dollars for each visit. The frivolous Holly does not think about the consequences of such actions.
Paul is attached to the girl. They become real friends: share dreams, plans for the future. But one day, Holly announces to Paul about her imminent marriage. Her chosen one is a wealthy man from Brazil. Holly has long dreamed of becoming the wife of a rich man. She is going with her future husband to Brazil, but she is being arrested.
Holly spends only a few days behind bars. Jose, meanwhile, is changing his plans. He does not intend to associate himself with a person whose reputation leaves much to be desired. Holly, in spite of everything, decides to go to Brazil. She is going to the airport. Paul accompanies the girl, persuading him to stay. However, Holly is adamant. In addition, an eccentric girl gets rid of her red cat along the way, who did not bother to give a name.
The end of this story, in contrast to the final part of the literary source, is happy. The film ends with a meeting of heroes against the backdrop of a rainy city landscape. The most touching scene, perhaps, is the one where the heroine of the film, after a long search, hugs her soaked nameless cat.
